Installed the Rugged Ridge Fortis tube front doors this weekend. I love the look but I can't get the fitment perfect. Reviews of these doors state that they don't require a "slam" to close properly, but I've tried for hours to adjust the hinge pins and latch box, but can't get the alignment right. The tube door also rubs slightly on the door jam, which is scratching the paint off. Has anyone else had success with the door alignment on these? Thank you!

Yeah, I've got issues with mine, but I don't think we are having the same problem though. Looking at your photo, is the bottom of the driver tube door rubbing on the top of the door sill? The doors look to be a little low there.

My doors aligned properly and close and latch ok. My issue is the rear bumpers don't contact the door sill properly which causes the doors to rattle. The bumper bracket looks to be too high so the bottom edge of the bumpers barely strike the door sill and then roll up over the sill when the door is fully closed. Omix Support is working with me. They sent me different bumpers, but they didn't help. Now they asked for more time because their staffing is low. They promised to resolve the issue if it meant sending me new rear doors, so I'm optimistic.

I have the same issue with my door bumpers. I guess I’ll need to file a complaint as well. Please keep me/us posted with your resolution’s progress.

I had RR tube doors on my JKU. Not the exact model you have, but similar.

One door would not align properly with the latching mechanism.

I called the vendor, and they told me how to "fix."

Their instructions were to open the door.

After the door is open, position your self between the jeep and the door, with your back towards the jeep.

With your back to the jeep, strike the outside of the latching mechanism on the tube door with a hammer. (Outside meaning striking the outside of the latch from the front of the jeep towards the rear.)

Craziest thing I have ever heard from a vendor, but it worked.

Thanks for giving me some hope that Omix will make it right.

My issue is the top left corner makes contact with the door sill, on both sides. The driver side is more, but both sides make contact. I've tried loosening all of the hinge bolts and putting a towel in the contact area... closing the door and re-tightening the hinge bolts. So far, nothing has helped. Maybe Omix can send me new hinges. Thanks again, and I hope you get your issue sorted.

Anything new? I emailed them a couple of weeks ago and never got a response.

I never heard back either. I was able to get the doors somewhat aligned, but it's definitely not perfect. The doors still hit the frame slightly and require a pretty firm slam to shut.

Let us know if you hear from support. I'll keep trying too.

Same here, no response. The last reply I got was from Bruce Goughnour in the beginning of May. He said they were working from home in a limited capacity until things got back to normal.

I sent my first email to them on May 11. More have followed. It has now been 60 days with no response to that or any other email. My phone call has gone unreturned as well.

I’m about to send these things back and go with another brand. I absolutely would not recommend these as quality is suspect and customer service is non existent.

I understand coronavirus has affected everyone, but unless their entire office staff has died this is unacceptable.

I have not heard back either... really sucks because I like the look of the door, but the constant rubbing on door sill makes me hurt every time I close them. Not sure what else we can do to get someones attention at Omix.

I bought the Aries from 4 Wheel Parts. They matched the Amazon price and I know I have someone local to go bitch too if there is an issue. Totally worth it and they lock as well to keep someone from stealing them.

so, it turns out that i'm a dumb ass. After a month of dealing with doors that never closed properly I realized what my problem was. I had the hinges reversed, which was causing the tube door to sit closer to the frame due to the slight bend in the hinge. I have no idea how I didn't see or realize it when I installed them. The bend in the hinge should go away from the tube door... and it probably illustrates this in the instructions.
Omix never got back to me, but at least I realized what was causing my issue and fixed it. Doors seem to open and close, as designed now.

I hope everyone else get's their issues resolved.
