This simple product is the standard by which all others are judged. A good install is critical with this, so go to someone recommended or watch the YouTube vids and do it yourself. It is successful because of the complexity of circumventing it.

This, plus I have added an Apple AirTag to all my vehicles so that I can track them if necessary and at only $25 (US) it’s pretty cheap Insurance.

And so can everyone else.

Huh? I'm not sure what you mean. Nobody else can track your car if there's an AirTag. Other than Apple. But then again, they can track you if you drive your car while you have your phone.

And then there's the Jeep ratting you out with its built in GPS and LTE modem reporting to the mothership continuously.

So? your point is?

If you want to be stealth, it's super easy to remove the AirTag.

AirTags are a brilliant solution. Dirt cheap and zero ongoing cost.
My daughter is away skiing out west with her school as I type this. I put an AirTag in her ski bag so she could track it all along its trip as checked luggage.

I saw some people from JDI telling Cristy Lee that they can protect her Hellcat (she had one stolen), and they've installed on FCA vehicles with no issues.

It's cell tracking and can disable the fuel pump from a mobile app.

Which may not be so bad. It would tell thieves they're trying to take something that has tracking.

AirTags will alert someone if they're being tracked. Disable the speaker and hide it well.

The AirTag won't alert someone for 24 hours. It will raise an alert on the iPhone and start beeping. Removing the speaker takes 5 minutes.

A certain asset that I own has TWO AirTags. One with the speaker in place and the other very very well hidden with the speaker removed. That's $50 total with no recurring costs. A no brainer.

That's BS. You do NOT have to put in the PIN if you use ESS.
Well you don't now, but if you looked at the thread I linked it was an issue originally.

When I read the thread a while back, it hadn't been sorted out yet.

This is a completely different situation. This is where someone puts an AirTag in your car without you knowing.

It's completely different from you keeping your own AirTag in your car so that you can track it when you aren't in the car.

The air tag is bound to a single Apple ID, or a single person. Nobody else can view its location. So like I said above, there is no risk to you from YOUR OWN AirTag. I can't comment on if someone sticks THEIR AirTag to your Jeep without your knowledge.
