I know a lot of folks like to stuff as large of a tire in the wheel well as possible, but if you use your Jeep at all it's better to have the travel and articulation IMO. If you do ultimately go 37s I would add a lift and shock risers (since you have a Mojave) to keep your clearances. Regardless of tire weight, I personally would regear for any tire size larger than 2" (nominal) over stock. Will do, as soon as I pick her up this Thursday! LMK if you want any particular angles etc. I also thought of going to 37 (such as the BFG KO2 which are a bit smaller diameter than a lot of the other 37’s). I still might do it someday but the possible issues of rubbing (with no lift) and the need for new gears (even though the KO2 is pretty light) stopped me from doing it. I’ll run the 35 for a while and see how it goes, and learn along the way.
Why would you need a wider wheel to mount a taller tire?Andrew, It looks like you mounted the 35's to the original wheels, is that what you had done?
I feel like I have to add at least an inch to the width of the wheel to put on 35s.
