SC tuning issues, or not a big deal?

Considering a SC but have heard so many stories of not being able to get the tune right. Random sputtering of the Jeeps after install. Small issues they may be...but still disconcerting.
Is it just the out of the box tunes that are the issue, or is it more?

There are several threads in the forced injection section of the forum. I highly recommend you read them.

Tuning this vehicle with a Supercharger is not for the faint of heart. Additionally, the lifter issues continue and may be exacerbated by the supercharger.

We have a forum member that has done some miracles for some of us, but there is not a tuner out there including Magnuson itself that have not had engines shell out.

That said, I love my truck with the Magnuson, and without the supercharger, it would have been traded in. There are many of us that have superchargers and love them on this forum, there are others who have uninstalled theirs and have no intention to try again.

Read, think, know yourself and your risk aversion before going this route!

Tuning with the SC is the most critical piece . I went through this with RIPP and finally got it dialed in. i agree with the comment :read , think , and understand the risk… thats good advice .. I had fun with mine while it lasted but then went with a 392 wrangler with a warranty - but again everyone has different reasons . I personally wanted a hemi swap in my gladiator then looked at prices and drawbacks of that … I settled on adding a RIPP and had fun for a year but then drove a 392 wrangler and was willing to sacrifice the truck for the hemi wrangler

It is a shame that Jeep/chrysler canno control their quality. I can see why aftermarket companies is are hesitant to step in the ring with the engine stuff. It has the bones of a fantastic power plant, but poor assembly practices, materials, and emissions, has brought this platform to a roll of the dice for customers. You get one built just right and it runs forever no issue. You get one were someone sneezed while assembling it, prepair for gremlins, that take a pretty good exorcist to remove. The Hemi has its issues too but the aftermarket is pretty keen on that engine, as it should be. Most any problem can be solved via an upgrade.

I called comp cams to discuss making billet cams and followers, they really had no interest, and no resources to do so. It is obvious Jeep knows about these issues both my replacement cams had newer revision part numbers on them, as well as the rockers and lifters.

I have done quite a bit of research, and right now I think the most reliable engine going is the 5.6L in the Titan.
