I hadn't heard of a new Scout, and obviously it's been a minute since International Harvester was making non-commercial vehicles, so I needed to refresh myself with whatever is going on with that company/brand. Here's the wikipedia:

Scout Motors Inc. is an American automotive company. It is owned by German manufacturer Volkswagen Group, which obtained the Scout brand after acquiring American truck manufacturer Navistar International in 2021.

Scout Motors was established in May 2022 to produce off-road capable electric vehicles.[2] It is an entirely US-based operation and acts as an independent company, managed separately from Volkswagen with its own executive team.[3][4] The headquarters is located in Tysons, Virginia.[1][5]

im certainly interested in replacing the door wedge with one. I believe Rivian is helping with their powertrain if so it’ll be a freakin blast to drive (as a daily only)

The Scout plant being built is just over one mile from my house. It's been amazing how much earth they have moved, natural habitats destroyed, to make this happen along with the new interstate interchange, road realignments, etc etc. The little town (Blythewood) they built this near will never be the same. The local infrastructure is no way capable to handle the anticipated increase in traffic, school and housing. It's already the pits when school is in session. But hey, it's progress and new tax revenue, not to mention 4K jobs.

$45k base price tag has me intrigued, my wife's 4xe lease is coming up and this might be the way to go. She loves jeeps though, I just don't love the $70k prices tags that I cant afford.

Been looking forward to seeing this.

I certainly won't be an early adopter, but maybe in 4-5 years.
