Iv taken this thing everywhere already. Many snow trips and mountain driving Probably 4k miles of driving with it on .. Average 12-13 mpg. Not to bad. This was just a small 3/10 trail.
I'm jealous that you are out racking up the miles! Any callouts with the Tuktut yet? Do you find the straps needing a little more tightening every once in a while since they are new? No condensation or leaking issues?

Also, sorry if I missed it, but what spring/shock combo are you running? Just curious on handling characteristics thus far.

Thanks!

It's def feels good on the truck .
Only issue iv had is in storms with high winds, the water got into the window a bit and damaged the black out part of the window that was down at the time. Its not straight anymore but not really an issue.
The straps needed to be tightend up a bit once which scout tells you to do regardless . You drive a bit and then tighten one more time

No leaks what so ever .
I run stock rubicon springs with mojave shocks . I have the airlift 1000 bags that work great with load e tires at 60 psi.
Feels entirely normal . The only thing I'm adding is the rear active bump stops.

https://www.etrailer.com/Vehicle-Su...Mb691Dkh6aBk1vkZec7YCiF14Qdyl_FhoC4FsQAvD_BwE

Other than that just the fox ats stabalizer . I never lifted the truck because i know it would cause more roll . With stock height , it make turns almost the same . I think i might switch to the sdi eclick shocks since its minimal 1.5 in lift and call it a day.

Nice camper!

The wife and I just load the Glad into the back of the 45' ATC toy hauler, hook it to the RAM 5500 and away we go! Park the TH, unload the Jeep and go explore. Come back every night; go in a different direction the next day... every 3-5 days we move a few hundred miles and repeat. Roughing it smoothly!

Sounds awesome ! I plan to get a class c - and use the tow bar in front of my glad's bumper in the future haul and station out like that.

This setup is mainly to drive through blizzards into ski resorts and wanted something really capable of driving through or out of sticky situations.

It's def not a long-term camping situation nor expect it to be.
It really sucks to get ready in 10 degree weather outside to go snowboard when you do 30-40 days a season ahaha

I like the electrical panel on this, plus the tailgate delete with full rear door. The height scares me.
The total height for me is 9'6" from ground to top of camper. It is taking some getting used to but the trade off for comfort suits us. The AEV HC springs, Fox 2.5 Elites and Hellwig rear sway bar have negated the need for Sumo or Timbren Active bump stops. Driving from Denver CO to Springfield MO was a no-fuss ordeal and the truck was more planted than I could have imagined.

I average about 12.5 mpg across KS from Denver @65-70mph. I could easily drive the camper at 75mph but it was just a fuel consumption issue at that point.

Hey gang,
Just posting an update after taking the Tuktut on it's first real trip to Taos, NM last weekend. 4 nights of camping and some rough fire road is what we saw on this endeavor. The camper didn't budge an inch in the bed and the ease of 4 hard sides is really suiting our needs this year so far. Averaged 14mpg when there were no big winds and kept things 65-70mph. AEV HC springs are the answer for anyone with a heavy load IMO.

Here's some pics and a very interesting fact from the CAT Scale. The Scout is almost identical to the AluCab setup! I know these campers look heavy and a little polarizing but the Tuktut is truly suited for the Gladiator IMO.

Tuktut is fully loaded, full tank of gas and NO WATER in tanks... also NO bike or rack

Previous setup, full of gear, full tank of gas, NO WATER in bed tank, BUT includes bike rack and bike (likely the 140lb extra difference)

I'm sure you will love your scout .

I picked mine up friday and believe was the first retail delivery. If you have any questions or want pics , let me know.

Depending on your wheels offset , I don't see 37s going in. I have 17in wheels with offset -18, 35s and it was basically mms of space left between the Jack's.

These Jack's are amazing though. Worth it 100% . They come off so easy. The trip home will be heavier but once it's home, remove the Jack's in seconds and can take the camper off easy after the trip

One of the best thought out designed campers that are with in gladiators center of gravity needs.

Can you close the tailgate with the camper installed?

No. I chose to take mine off but you could leave it on and constantly down if you wanted a front porch

The camper looks cool but my Visa CC works great at any hotel with less wind resistance and better MPG.

I might have to borrow it sometime to try it out.

Thanks for the reply, I’ve been looking at these for a few months. I started doing the math on lbs of the mods I’ve done plus human/fur babies weight, my recovery gear, 35s, kms rims, house battery for winching, ARB fridge freezer, food, water for a few days out plus the camper’s weight configuration and I’m right at or over my JTs GVWR printed on the door. I ran all of this by my local Scout sales guy, he confirmed my math, and freaked a little that it came in that close. He kept saying it’s rated for a JT. We spoke about the doomsday insurance crowd that will yell ”won’t cover it“ in an accident because of exceeding GVWR. Is your setup over your GVWR?

BTW, this camper is exactly what I’m after…I’m too old to be scaling up and down an RTT ladder at night to pee. Plus l’m in Jelly Stone park a couple times a year, and the turds won’t let soft side anything in the park…bears issues.
