The new pop-up is only offered in the Yoho version currently. This is not designed for the Gladiator market. They will be offering a smaller pop-up Tuktut that I'm going to guess would come in at under 600 lb.I like it. Looks like a complete product with interior build out included. But at 976lbs, that's a lot of dry weight for the gladiator. Comparatively, I think the alucab camper is 550lbs kitted out.
Sorry if I made it confusing. I am hopeful that they make a Gladiator version that is not super heavy. The new pop-up is only offered in the Yoho version currently. No worries, I think the Scout release made it slightly confusing too given that it was in a long bed, mid size Taco. My head usually goes to a 5ft box when I see a TacomaSorry if I made it confusing. I am hopeful that they make a Gladiator version that is not super heavy.
Wow! That's way too heavy for a mid-size truck. That's almost all the payload of my Gladiator Rubicon. Add a passenger and a couple items and you're over.I like it. Yeah I'm a little shocked at that weight and I wonder if it's not just a ballpark estimate or a random number they threw out while still developing.... I know struts and hinges and things are heavy but that doesnt' even make sense to me.No worries, I think the Scout release made it slightly confusing too given that it was in a long bed, mid size Taco. Wondering if they'll still offer a shell or something more built out like the Yoho in the interior. Regardless, the estimated 976lb of the pop-top vs the 991lb of the hard side in the Yoho is not much of a delta. The real savings though comes with better gas mileage and tighter trail riding / off-road prowess.
Well the majority going camping with a family is pretty much over GVW already anyway. Hardly anyone is actually under unless it's just a daily grocery getter.Wow!
