So I am leaning towards the Clayton 3.5" lift. I reached out to them about going with new Falcon shocks or keeping the Fox Mojave shocks and using relocation brackets. They said keep the Fox as they have had many customers do that with no problems. What I cannot wrap my head around is the flex and travel. They said relocating the stock shocks and adding 3.5" lift will not change my flex.

Question: If I lift 3.5" and keep factory shocks with relocation brackets I am only gaining ground clearance but I am not gaining flex correct? The shock travel will be the same as no lift. Therefore in a flex situation my lifted height of 3.5" is limited to the stock shocks travel. Whereas if I replaced the shocks with some that are for that lift height there would be more flex. And if I am thinking about this correctly, new shocks for that lift height would only gain me 1.75" in extra flex travel vs standard shock. So if I am right maybe no bid deal? Someone please correct me or verify my thoughts on this?

Your thought process is generally correct.

Hello! It looks like there was a little bit of a simple misunderstanding. We always recommend new shocks to all of our customers, and usually only ever recommend shock extensions as a short-term solution, as you are not gaining any additional wheel travel with extensions. However, with the Mojave, we understand that most have purchased this vehicle with the factory shocks in mind and are usually looking for a way to lift the vehicle while keeping the stock Fox shocks. The other issue is that Jeep actually made the shock mounting bolts on the Mojave a bit bigger, and so aftermarket shocks will not work on the Mojave unless you're willing to drill out the shock mount to fit the larger bolt size.

New shocks are always recommended for best results when lifting your vehicle, but we have had a lot of Mojave customers decide to stick with the factory shocks and it seems like that has also worked relatively well for them. It really comes down to what you plan on using the vehicle for and what is important to you! Hopefully this helps clear any confusion up. Please feel free to reach out if you have any remaining questions :like:
