Why would you not want to go off-road with wheels with “big lips”. I understand not putting them on an extreme rock crawler but that’s not what this build is for. These will perform just fine for 99% of jeepers needs. But I would like to know why you wouldn’t go off-road with this setup?
misspoke.. my bad... I agree mostly with what you said.. you put it better than I did.. but for me 20s are a little tall unless your running 40's and 12" is a little wide for most of my areas local trails and it looks like they poke quite a bit and would put more stress on the front axle components.... but I understand that is not the build....that's why I complimented it... so please don't misunderstand, I really like your rig.. wasn't trying offend.... my apologies.
They look like Go Rhino Dominator D1 side steps
thanks

No my bad man. I got my panties in a twist when I saw bro-dozer. I agree with you as well. I will be snaggin some more 17s in the spring but honestly going to 40s with 17s means a lot of sidewall. Not sure how much I trust a C rated 40 with a bunch of weight for long trips. There are D rated 40s for 20" wheels that would work. I also agree with you about how far they stick out, I would rather go with a narrower 20" wheel with a 40" tire. Or go with a 17" wheel and higher rated 40" tire, but then the weight is really getting up there.

As for stress on the front axle components, I am all for it. Every time something breaks it's an excuse or "opportunity" to upgrade. lol

It’s like you’re my spirit animal.

My rough country steps:
Them- “those will rust in a year.”
Me- “good.”

My Bilstein shocks
Them- “those rust in a year in the northeast.”
Me- “good.”

I've built 9 jeeps, 3 scouts and a ton of other vehicles. My wife knows my tricks by now, but here's what went through my mind when I think of something breaking.

My wide wheels and tires wear out axle components.
- Instantly get to upgrade that part
- Tell wife I need to upgrade other components that are associated with broken part
- Also I probably need to get new tires and wheels because that's what caused the part to break in the first place.
- Might also need to go ahead and re-gear because if I'm getting new wheels and tires I should go ahead and get the bigger tires I want.

Thanks! Those are Metalcloak with flipsteps. They take a hell of a beating.
Thanks so much! Working on my 2020 Gator Rubi and trying to find the right rails. Looking for something tough, but something with a step for the wife. Those look awesome.

MB11 wheels 17x9 -12, 37x12.5x17 Cooper STT Pros. These are actually the wheels from my JK and are only on the truck temporarily to have a look at and see how the truck handles the 37s. Likely gonna go with Mopar beadlocks and 37" ATs with a 2" lift
