Looks like we aren’t the only ones dissatisfied.

I'm surprised it's even around $6 a share honestly. I don't understand how satellite radio can compete with podcasts, audiobooks, and on-demand music streaming on a cellphone that everyone already owns in their pocket.

Been a few years but I read something like 60% of their audience subscriber base is listening in for Howard Stern. They have wrapped their barely scraping by business model around a handful of linchpin exclusive talent.

Satellite coverage is much better than cell coverage, especially west of the Rockies and through the Plains.
And yes, SiriusXM does use terrestrial transmitters in some urban areas.
And there are still a lot of people that don’t have unlimited data plans for their phones.

I tried many, many channels on satellite radio. The only channel I really liked was "Siriusly Sinatra". I even liked the guest DJs they would have on which included Nanci Sinatra. They didn't just talk smack. Many of them personally knew the late artists they played and would share very good stories and interesting facts. Sometimes the channel would feature contemporary pop stars sharing their favorite standards.

I drove from Colorado Springs to Las Vegas with that channel playing non-stop and I never heard a single song repeat. That's what radio should be.

Alas, one channel isn't enough to pay for it.

Never had issue I chat in once a year to get a better price
I call in the week before it renews each year and tell them I'm going to cancel. They then give me the $99/yr (+ BS fees). In the rare case they don't, I go ahead and cancel and I'll get the offer in the mail within the first month.
