I haven't been impressed with anything VW has done in the past 20 years. I did own a 2001 Jetta GLS VR6 and that baby was a fun mini-Audi. Then they screwed up the next-gen Jetta, GTI, and everything else with a VW badge. Hard pass.

The post is about the render... I know what the render looks like, and the render is obviously what I'm talking about. I would not buy a suv or truck that came out looking anything like that render. Thanks for being rude though.

In my state there is a 5k rebate for EVs under 45k, plus they are sold sales tax free (6.625% savings).

So in theory, if i could get my hands on an F150 lightning, it would be about 28.5k out the door after federal tax credits. Otherwise known as about half the price of my gladiator. Likewide the MachE is priced at 44995, so 33.5k.

Hell, i could buy a nissan leaf brand new for 17k.

The problem isn't that EVs are too expensive, it's that the cheap ones are either incredibly hard to find or ugly

You do realize that it’s your tax money providing those tax credits, right? And they are taxing more elsewhere to offset what they are giving away? Just wanted to affirm that nothing is “free”, ultimately we are ALWAYS the ones who pay for it.

Don’t get all up in arms, these are made up by Motortrend staff, remember early Bronco renderings… the only thing they got right is that the car had 4 wheels.

Exactly, it’s a Motortrend jackhole drawing cartoons that sort of look like a modernized Scout. Until we see a concept or picture from VW it’s just clickbait.

Everybody who takes the “free” government money will get taxed elsewhere to compensate. Just go into it with eyes wide open, nothing is free. Much like how government “free” Covid money is a big driver of our current inflation situation.

Can't even forgive Chevy for letting some POS small SUV taking over the Blazer nameplate unlike Ford reserving the Bronco name and bringing it back in all its glory (no not the sport, but the real full-size version)

GM is a trash company and the blazer has been trash for the last 3 decades easily. I'd rather drive a yj on 33's and a 4 cylinder than an old blazer.

Based on that picture, it looks like a run of the mill crossover. With fixed doors/roof. I'm hoping the notion that it's just a rendering is correct. I hope it looks more boxy like a Land Rover or a Jeep or Bronco. I hope you're right. It's a storied name. It'd be a shame to botch it on a CUV, like what is called a Blazer now.
