Just FYI for those looking at plows, Boss does have push plates and wiring harness specific to the JT/JL. Had one mounted up today and everything seems to fit fine.

Note I do have a 3 in. lift and 34's so the push beam sits a tad high even in the lowest setting. TBD how it goes when snow flies.

How much snow and what consistency? Not breaking balls just trying to qualify performance.

Most storms on Maine this winter have been 6in or less of wet heavy snow, so it hasn't been put 'to the test' so to speak. I do about a half mile of dirt road + driveways. In 4HI it's pushed just fine without even having to put weight in the back.

At the end of the day it's obviously not the same as plowing in a full size with a larger/heavier plow, buts it hasn't come up short yet.

Great for keeping the road open but I wouldn't plan on pushing back snowbanks with it.

You have tools? You can install a plow.

The plow should run 3500 or there about.

the install directions i’ve seen require a hole drilled through the frame to mount the bracket—for $500 (assuming i can get for $4k) if rather pay to have it done right and straight.

The holes I had to drill were an enlargement of a factory hole to accept a lollypop bolt. Download the directions and decide how much its worth to you.

I have never heard of a “lollipop“ bolt. Could you post a pic or explain?
I may very well know the bolt under a different name. Thanks

Bolt with a section of bar or rod welded to the head so you fish it down a frame rail.

I'm sure there are other names but that's the only one I know. And a note for others, paint yours before you send them in AND leave a long tail, someday you may need to take the mount off and plowing conditions do sinful things to chassis parts. My bolts rusted through the weld and the tail broke off, had to cut the nuts and perform magnet surgery to get the bits out. Like Operation but worse.

Rust is the enemy of Jeeps. Plowing snow (almost always pre-salted snow) is probably the worst thing you can do in any jeep that you intend to keep for 10+ years. I know for a fact that it will cost me less over the next 15 years to buy a few years old regular cab 4x4 truck and use that for plowing, than take my new Jeep and plow with it, then deal with rust issues in 8 years vs 18 years on my $45k JT.
