Used a whole 16oz bottle. It’s a bit drippy looking, I didn’t wipe it off. Might hit a second coat to even it out.
I let this dry 2 hours before driving.

here it is after a 10 mile round trip in the rain. Not too shabby to be honest.
wondering how well it hold up over time, and through a few car washes.

So, what is it?
We have a lot of Chemical Guys stuff here at the house, but never heard of that before. We ceramic coated the inner fenders and all the plastics.

I just bought a one gallon pail of PB Surface shield and hit the entire underside of the truck and the Wrangler with it every fall. A gallon pail is about $60 and will probably last me the next five years or more of completely coating two vehicles.

according to the website it is an oil based undercarriage spray. Usable on metal, plastic etc. has an almost 5 star rating on their site. NOT recommended for tires, but i did see one of the questions asking if its safe for engine bay components. (says it is , but id think you need to spray carefully)

I've no idea how long it lasts. It was 11$ for a 16oz bottle on amazon. since todays experience i ordered 2 more bottles to do some more of the underneath.

Sorta but it is petroleum base vs. lanolin. Everything I have read on it says it is more of a every few months touch up product than a yearly application and they emphasize the appearance aspect of the product primarily.

I do not think they position it as a direct competitor product to Fluid Film or any of the other lanoline based undercoat product.

The petroleum base is a turn off for me. Last thing I want is to be dumping a bunch of oils into the water table. At least lanolin is biodegradable.

I'm hesitant to put a petroleum-based product on anything plastic or rubber. I used this on my entire vehicle after every wash, and it still looks brand new.

Anytime I think of oil based anything….I think of: You have to wipe most of it off to leave a very thin film of it and/or it’ll attract dust and get gummy over a period of time. Clean it off really good before applying more…. You don’t want to apply more overtop what’s already gummy.

That is always the trade off with Fluid Film and the like. Any underneath work is going to be a grimy greasy mess. I would rather deal with the mess than rust setting in.

That’s fair enough….
I only keep my vehicles around 8 years and I rarely go over 60-70K miles total in those 8 years. I don’t use anything and haven’t seen any serious rust issues.

Besides using as you did, I put this stuff on my dull spray in bed liner and it looks brand new again!
