Soft OEM roll up bed cover.

Move, when rolled up contacts the rear glass window on the hard top. Also, my straps don't Velcro when rolled up against the glass as there isn't enough Velcro on the strap.

That's not the proper way to do it that's why. I made the same mistake. If you watch the official video from chrysler your only supposed to roll it up so far and then strap it down with velcro. You went too far.

I'm selling mine soon

I have the soft rollup and like it. However the seal doesn't sit right sometimes when I roll it back down and I have to adjust it. Recently I can see on the driver side when I'm driving that the middle driver side is lifting up not flapping but lifting off the side of the box. Any insight?
@Murgatroid I noticed you stated you had the soft rolling tonneau cover from Mopar. Have you left yours rolled up for a period of time and if so have you noticed any of the fabric wearing off? I have left it rolled up for a while now and today when I unrolled it i noticed there are different spots throughout the cover where you can see the top layer of the fabric worn off and a lighter smoother texture is underneath. Has anyone else had this problem? Is this something that would be covered under warranty?

I have read so many threads on the fact vs fiction of this cover locking, I don’t know what to believe. I cannot find the “magic” spot to push down and make this actually lock. As I see it, the rubber gasket at the tailgate uses friction to keep it in place, but is easily pulled up for what many call “weekend warrior mode”. Doing this this gives direct access to the red pull tabs to open it the rest of the way. It’s not a huge deal, as if someone wanted to take something they could just slice the cover, but a little more deterrence would have been nice.

I installed the MOPAR 617 roll-up on my ‘21 Gladiator Overland on Friday. Other than the fact that the threaded nut plate or rivnut was not installed from the factory at the mounting holes on the front of the bed box and there was nothing included or mentioned in the install kit, I’m happy with the installation. It fits nicely. I also had a couple issues at first getting the back frame part to click into the two hold-down clips, but I watched whe video from Jeep and figured out where to pull down on the back frame. Once I got it to click in place, I loosened the two M6 bolts on each clip and then re-tightened them to get them to line up better. Mine is secure enough with the tailgate closed that I can’t easily lift up on the back flap. I simply push the back edge down when I close the tailgate, I’m sure a determined thief could pry it up, or just cut the cover material, but it’s secure enough that I would call it “locking” with the tailgate closed. As you said, it’s a tight friction fit between the weatherstripping and the tailgate. Overall, I’m very impressed with the design. No way I would want Velcro along the edges of my bed! I took the additional step of coating it with 303 Waterproofing spray. It appears to be the same kind of high-quality fabric they use for convertible tops. Costs way too much, but it seems worth it!

I noticed that they have an updated part number. Wonder what the difference is between the two. The older part number is for those manufactured in 2020 which is when mine was. Currently undergoing a warranty repair on mine. One side of it has deformed and leaves a nice gap you can get your hand under on the driver side. Causing water to run in when driving in the rain. Normally it never leaked.

Are they fixing yours or replacing it under warranty? Yeah mine has a bigger gap on the driver's side and it pools water pretty good when it rains between the slats. There is a noticeable sag in between the slats.

Im still waiting to hear. Been a few weeks and many of the tonneaus are on backorder. Passenger side sits tight its the driver side that lifts the same as yours. They said for the warranty they have to replace just the little plastic strip sewn in or something and are trying to locate the part number for that. Seems complicated to go through that whole thing but if that's how they have to fix it doesn't matter to me as long as it looks good and works. They kept mentioning about having to send/contact Truck Hero's. Maybe that's who makes the covers for Jeep.

Does yours pool and hold a lot of water on between the slats? I have thought about bringing mine in and asking what they can do but my cover was thrown in from the dealership when I purchased the truck so I'm not sure if it would be covered under warranty.

Yea if the truck is sitting out in the rain water can pool on it but I would say thats normal as long as its not leaking in the bed. Once you get going it should just run right off. The pooling is very minimal.

yeah it does usually run off. I actually leave my cover rolled up most of the time since I don't keep anything in the bed and I don't have to worry about the rain water sitting on it.

The bed mounts changed after january of 21 i think. I'm running a 2019/2020 cover on my July 21 build and the holes are a little different. There are threads about it on here that I read. But basically you can retrofit and I did.
