I washed the truck today and I noticed that there is paint coming off under the hood where the front of the hood seals against the engine bay.

I think it’s just the paint, but the under spray / primer looks fine.

Would you worry?

dealing with a dealer for stuff like this can take months and this has no impact to really anything so I am inclined to say screw it, but what do you think?

Mine is hydro blue doing the same thing, mines about 1.5 years old, been like that since shortly after I got it. Doesn’t seem to cause any issue, I wouldn’t be concerned

You'll see that with other and older cars and trucks where a "pad" or "seal" rubs the hood. It can be minimized by making sure the hood fits snug and it's shaking around, otherwise, when there's two mating parts that aren't secured together firmly, there's a lot of vibrating going on and that sort of "rubbing through the paint" is bound to happen. I haven't noticed it on my truck - yet - but can recall seeing it on my past vehicles. I didn't worry because the same actions that wore through the paint also kept the metal polished once the paint was gone.
If you were taking it some place to show - touch it up, otherwise, drive it. (depending on your level of OCD, of course)

Mine was doing it too under the hood, from rubbing seals. I had it repainted (under warranty). Now it's doing it again

keep seals sprayed with dry silicone spray or door seal spray....it will help to avoid the paint "sticking" to seal
Yes, that will prevent that..........
But in my experience, there may still be wear over time and eventually wear through the paint.
I've applied various protectants, sprays, etc. over all seals, hoses, rubber parts, and so on on my car and truck parts for years and although it prevents the sticking, there will still be wear.
My car is a good example of that. It's always spotless even under the hood and yet...........
Silicones will slow it and prevent sticking, but there's still friction.

The sticking isn't normal and the treatment is a great idea to prevent that.

I had a similar issue on my old JK and on my Ram. I took a strip of 3M paint protection film and put it along the contact point. Problem solved.

I think that's the best solution to a simple problem I've seen all day.
