I found a good deal on a brand new soft top. Is it worth picking up? I use a touch free car wash about 2 times a week. Anyone have issues with soft top in touch free car wash? Also how much louder is road noise with soft top? Also 1000 is a good deal for brand new still in the box right?

Looks like a good deal.
As for touch free, don't know how it will handle it as far as leaks are concerned because touch free washes have higher pressure than regular ones.
I wash my Jeep myself at home.

I got the hared top from the factory, and a second hand soft top.

Hard top is for colder months, and soft is for most of the year when weather is decent.

the soft is a bit louder, but not really THAT much. Though to be fair Im an awful judge of volume since loosing most of the hearing in my right ear.

Personally I LOVE that I can take the rear window out, and the small side panels, and just run a safari top. By far the coolest feature as far as im concerned.

Id say pick it up and if you dont like it, re sell it. It will sell since people are always after soft tops.

I bought my JT with a hard top. After a few months, I also found a great deal on a new soft top. I run the soft top for about 9 months of the year. No issues at touchless car washes. The soft top has been one of my best purchases. You cannot beat the ease of popping the top on a nice day. Good luck with your decision. Either way you’re already winning - you have a JT!

Purchased with a hardtop and found a soft top on market place for the same price as a bestop sun rider. Freedom panels are a pain to store in the jeep. Soft top retracts in seconds. If you are patient you will find great deals. Just saw a brand new twill soft top listed on market place one town over from me for $750.

$1000 is a good deal for a soft top, so if you have good storage for the hard top I'd say spring for it.

The only other thing I'd say to consider would be the Sunrider. I have that and thought I'd switch between it and the freedom panels for the winter months, but I never took it off this winter and probably won't put the panels back in unless the Sunrider somehow gets damaged. So it would be less work swapping back and forth and less to store

I live in southwest Florida. My first Jeep was a JLU with a hard top. I couldn’t remove it by myself (I hear you can with the JT). Also, you can’t take the hard top with you, and down here in the summer it rains at some point everyday. So when I bought the JT, a soft top was a must have. I don’t think it’s that loud vs my JLU with the hardtop, but it’s a Jeep. If I wanted quiet, I’d of bought something else. No problem with leaks in big downpours. I can’t speak to the car wash, have only hand washed so far. I agree with Gren, I also love Safari mode!

Same thing happened to me and I bought it. As others have mentioned, it’s a touch louder but the convenience is awesome. Popping the top whenever you want is great. And safari mode is my favorite. I’ll toss the hardtop back on when it gets colder. For now it’s racked in the garage like this. Do it!

I’m in central Florida and always did the opposite with my Jeep’s…hard top in the summer, due to the rain and heat, and soft top in the fall, winter and spring. Basically, from Memorial Day to Columbus Day I would run with the hardtop and then go to the soft top until Memorial Day. Unless you live on the beach…the summer is too brutal and the rain is daily and heavy. I also found the softop needs a lot of fabric maintenance due to basically being wet for almost six months continuously. That being said, I am on the lookout for a softop deal for my new JTR For the Florida ā€œwinterā€

That's a great deal. Buy it! Doors off and safari mode is also my go to configuration. I also like the fact that I can easily remove and reinstall the soft top by myself when I want to run "truly naked." I also run a hard top in the winter.
