While waiting in line to turn at stop sign, I noticed that this Gladiator's "Jeep" emblem was all askew. I'd like to think it didn't come from he factory this way.

From my perspective, there’re two possibilities:

(1) Somehow the truck left the factory with crooked lettering on the tailgate.

(2) The owner took them off, saw the holes, and didn’t have anything to cover them with, so s/he decided to just “reinstall” the letters.

Personally, there’s no way I could run around with the letters askew like that, I’m too OCD. I don’t care for the “Jeep” letters myself, but I’d rather use duct tape over the holes then have twisted lettering on the tailgate.

It could also have been moved to cover a blemish? Either way, different strokes for different folks.

Possibly, I’d not considered that.

Either way, different strokes for different folks.
Indeed, and I agree. But, if it’s a factory error, which I don’t believe it is, it’s a reflection of other, and possible more problematic, quality control issues.

This was just something I saw in the wild and thought I’d share. I see odd Jeeps all the time, but rarely have my camera ready. In fact, I saw Wrangler JKU with a large Ford emblem on its gate. It was large one, like on a full-size pickup. I thought that was pretty funny.

Probably got tired of waiting for a bronco….

I saw this “off road beast” a couple of days ago. I’m not even sure what to think of it, beyond the fact that it looks like a lot of effort.

And, it even has three Jeep trail badges. ??

My wife would divorce me if I put lettering on that askew. Looks horrific

My sister had a little silver Trailhawk Renegade, we called it "The toaster". Honestly not a bad little CUV, had it's own little charm to it and she would occasionally come home with it caked in mud, so I know the 4X4 was being used. She would talk about adding the Daystar lift and 33's to it someday, but she waved goodby to it this last year after she cracked the block at 60,000 miles, and bought Dad's old JK.

Little Jeep paved the way towards that, so they're alright in my book, even with the issue it had.

My sister-in-law has a Renegade and loves it more than my brother (her husband). It’s a fun little ride, just not something I’d ever be interested it.

As to the red Renegade, I think it’s hilarious and cool just the same. I can laugh and respect at the same time.

It’s like when my old Air Force buddy drove a GEO Tracker. Back then, our group of friends all drove Tacoma’s and Ranger’s. We all laughed at this guy because he referred to it as “the truck”. The really saw it as a big full-size beast. Similarly, he was “that guy” that would say “when you’ve been married as long as I have”, when he’d only been married a few months. He wasn’t joking, the dude was just… uh… different.

I got rid of the tailgate lettering. Looks WAY cleaner now. the holes are just there but hardly noticeable to anyone besides me or another JT owner.

first thing my Dad said was "well now how is anyone going to know it's a jeep?"
(yes he was joking. I grew up in his '67 CJ5)

It looks really good. You’re the only Gladiator I’ve see with a slick tailgate. I may do that myself, I can’t stand the “Jeep” letters and would’ve preferred something a little more reserved or a full on “GLADIATOR” stamped across the back.

But it’s what we have and could’ve been worse.
