I have the upgraded Alpine premium audio system. I've got a bunch of songs on a USB drive that I keep plugged in. I always leave the input on USB and I have "Shuffle" selected in the upper right corner. Every time I re-start the Jeep, it keeps playing whatever song was playing when I shut it off (as expected), but the problem is that it re-shuffles all the other songs. I noticed this because often I will hear a same song on my ride home from work as I did on the ride to work.

I confirmed the re-shuffle by comparing the "tracks" listing before and after a start cycle.

Does anyone know if there is a way for the system to remember the shuffle order and not re-shuffle until all songs are played?

This obviously won't work with your USB thumb drive. I have a iPad with downloaded music (off line maps, jscan, etc.) and I shuffle from the iPad, pause the iPad when I shut her down so it continues the shuffle instead of starting a new shuffle next time I start up. Just guessing but you probably can do the same with a small mp3 player if you ditched your thumb drive. Sorry that's all I got. Good luck.

The issue here is that it is re-reading the thumb drive on each start-up. It has memory of what was currently playing, but nothing beyond that. Because of that, it shuffles each time it reads the track list. No real way to prevent that without going some kind of route like @TroutFishingInAmerica mentioned.

That makes perfect sense. My JK remembers its shuffle order, but all the songs are stored on the hard drive within the head unit.
