I have the 7" screen without the alpine. I did not use the capacitors. From what I could tell they were not needed - though I am no expert in car audio.

I was going to try the capacitor out to see if it made a difference, but it would have required me to cut and splice wiring and I was not interested in that LOL.

So the capacitor that comes with the X3Cs is NOT needed on the non alpine 7”?

I have not watched all the video's or read deeply into this thread, but as an audio professional, I can pretty much guarantee you that changing speakers will not necessarily net you more "volume". They may be more defined, have more clarity or bass or whatever, but they will not be louder unless they change the impedance which can also change distortion characteristics at the same time. It sounds like the OP needs a more powerful AMPLIFIER - not different speakers - although both would probably be the ultimate upgrade. Changing out speakers without addressing the amplification issues is a band aid at best. That is unless Jeep FUBARED the system from the get go - which I guess is possible. It's jeep right? :) :)

If there are polarity (phase) issues, you should easily be able to hear the differences if you get equally between the speakers. One (in phase) will sound solid and right, and the other will sound wonky (out of phase) and like someone is trying to turn your head inside out.

That said, I have noticed this "not enough volume" problem in my 2022 - but mostly on my bluetooth connected phone app. Make sure your phone volume is up as much as possible. When playing directly from the center console, there is a TON of volume in the vehicle. Phone connections seem less than enough, but I have not gotten deep enough into it to find the problem.

Good luck!
