What ya'll think of sport bars on our JT's? I like the old classic look of trucks with the roll bars in the bed, kinda like this:

But for some reason I am on the fence about these:

I do like this though, too bad it is made for a RC version of our JT's, but I'm sure I could find someone to fabricate one for me 🤔

I don't mean to be cynical, but do those bats in the bed replace the stock bars in the cab? If not, why would you give up he space in the bed. If so, and you removed the stock bars, cool!

Otherwise, if only to look cool (and it does!), seems like a lot of effort, but Irepsect your taste.

No, they don't and can't.
Good luck removing the bars in the cabin of these things.

Genuine question about the lights.... is there any compromise in light output or shadowing caused by the cab?
Nope. None at all unless you have them Pointing at your hood

I have the JCR and love it.. But I also know these "sports bars" "rollbars" "chase racks" aren't for evryone.
Here's mine. Dedicated spots for rotapax... No, I don't always have the pax on. First photo was when I was overlanding and exploring, 2nd photo is when I first got the pax and last photo was when I installed the chase rack and lights

I love where you have your lights mounted behind the cab and have considered doing the same. I refuse to mount them at the top of the windshield due to the noise. How has having them mounted there worked out for you?

I don't like light bars nor do I like windshield mounted stuff and the lights on the chase rack is awesome. No regerts. No noise noticed within the cab, ever. Light output isn't hindered by the roof as some would think... Unless you try to light up right in front of you (that's what your headlights, fog lights and bumper mounted lights are for)
I have 2 spots with amber lenses on the center pointed just after the cutoff of the headlights and I have spot/flood combos on the outside pointed slightly outward (HF RS) Bumper mounted lights are BD sports flood pointing in between the chase lights and headlights.

Here is a photoshop version of a cheap sports bar I found on Amazon. The height of it should be around 21" so I think I got the measurements correct in the composite, but I'm actually liking it  The mesh plate thing can be removed and it comes with mounting areas for either led pods or strip.

I think the Exceed was going to be my choice until I decided to just spent the money and go with a Diamondback tonneau then I opted to add their headache rack and call it good. Im very pleased with the fit finish build quality a d look. I will say though that the mesh protecting the back window pretty much renders the rear view mirror as obsolete. But, in the famous words of the imported Italian racecar driver in one of the canball run movies " what is a behind me, she is of no importante!"
