When it comes to lack of function, that one at least isn't as much of an obstruction as some of them are!
Agreed. When I say lack of function, I mean basically these types of bars don't serve a purpose outside of looks. Unlike the older roll bars that actually were tied into the frame and could prevent the roof from caving in during a roll over.

But yeah, I bought this one because it didn't hinder the function of the bed any, was well built with 3/16" DOM tubing and would probably take a beating.

With a double cab and "sports bar" mounted lights, doesn't it cast a pretty big shadow right where you want light?

I think for every Boomer and Gen-Xer, our love for the roll-bar can be traced back to Marty McFly...

No, the lights are not intended to point right in front of your bumper (that's what bumper mounted lights are for)The sports bar lights are tinted to project light after the headlight cutoff

Bumper and pod lights do the same thing, without a cut off. Or mount a bar of lights across the A pillars.

The sports bar is definitely a vibe from the 80's and 90's.

Right, but my point is, if someone wanted lights to point right in front of the bumper, then muont lights on the bumper.

Lights on the sports bar won't have any obstruction if the intent to to go beyond the headlight cutoff

I have flood lights on my front bumper pointed slightly outward as "ditch lights". The lights on my chase rack have two I'm the center that are spot and point straight forward just at the cutoff of my headlights. The w outer lights are flood /spot combo and point slight outward and down. Been great. Plus I love the 80s look

Does anyone know a shop in the southeast or Texas that can custom fab this (minus the spare mount)? FORTEC was never able to put these into production. I'm having a tough time finding a shop that can work with 3" tubing for these.

Well depends on which cover you're talking about...
My jcr chase rack/sports bar/roll bar works with my access cover perfectly

I’m an Old guy who back in the day, bought the Toyota v6 xtra cab lifted. Roll bars and lights right off the lot. Would usually pull into camp ground well after dark on a Friday and them things lit up the whole campsite. No pitch the tent in the dark. i might get that setup again!! Feeling nostalgic

OEM soft roll up.
You'll be able to roll it up to the back of chase bar / light bar / roll bar. I've only seen a inside rail tonneau cover work with 1 version of sports bar that only mounted to the top of the bed sides / caps.

Doesn't mean another version doesn't exist, I just haven't seen one yet.

I can only fold up 2 panels of my tri fold before it hits the light bar.

Thanks, I’ll have to pick one I like and ask The manufacturer.

I've seen a couple of covers that ride between the side rails instead of on top. Those could work with bars that sit on the rails.
I've seen one set of bars that from the side looked "solid" but from the back each upright looked like a C-frame, and a power roll up slid inside the C.
Neither was a solution that I liked, so I don't have any details other than the pics are probably in a thread here somewhere
