Thought I would give my experience with mounting my starlink mini. I have been using it for a few months and had it redneck style mounted to my freedom top and worked fine but didn't hold forever or look good. I have found a good solution for while driving and being stored for security and wanted to share in case anyone was searching. The starlink DOES work though the removeable freedom top as it works though fiberglass. I mount it this way while in motion and some camping spots with 40+ mps and remove when needed to align perfectly for more stable/higher speeds of 150+ (unobstructed). I bought this mount with suction:
mount w/ suction (there are other variations)
The fiberglass does NOT hold suction at all so then purchased these adhesive pads with a smooth surface to attach to:
mounting disks
3/4 of the pads mount very flush and 1 is about 3/4 flush due to uneven spot. They attached very well with the 3M adhesive and seem very strong. Then I suctioned them to the top. I think this is pretty strong and shouldn't come loose but can be removed when needing to mount outside. Taking it on a road trip this weekend with some trails so we'll see if it holds up.
I also run a 50ft. USB-C power cable from it though the back into a bluetti power station which pulls about 20-25 watts. Never had an issue unless in a heavily wooded area and can remove and move it wherever needed to get the best performance.
