used to have a bed rack rtt and decked drawers, considering where i live (sf bay area) it was time to go with a more stealthy and secure option. i weighed pros and cons for both systems but after a trip to black rock NV i've come to conclusion i love my Smart cap.

Any issues with the Oracle taillights? I love the look, but see nothing but complaints about quality

knock on wood no problems w em so far, survived the storms weve had this past winter thru spring. heavy rain, and plenty snow trips. i have seen other folks on the forum mention they had problems or complaints about one going out. my biggest advice to give also is not to over torque, there isnt a torque spec but i just went snug and a quarter, you do not want to over do it ive heard nightmares of em cracking and not being under warranty leading folks to buying a new side. hope this helps! good luck!

@Barberian.JT - Nice. I am in the same boat for now as far a location. You have given me another option to consider knowing securing your truck is important!
Nice! fellow mojave in the area, hope to see u around! i love the cap, works way better for my application. compared to my bedrack setup it weighs 1/3 of my total weight loaded out. so my truck feels nimble again, otw to reno i was varying 17-20 mpg regeared to 5.13 compared to 13-15 also on 5.13, i also fit in SOME garages not all, again haha . at the end of some trips its nice to not have to pack everything exactly how it was i could just toss things in and deal w it later. i also had a switchpod lying around so im back to ground tenting and its been amazing its nice to be able to stand up (im short 5'5 /5'6) and change in it. its been a while since i've been on a multi day multi location trip so ground tenting is fine for now, but if ever weather were to turn for the worst i could ideally camp in the cap. only thing is cant open it from inside so youll have to somewhat keep it slightly resting open but atleast youll still be out the elements. hope this helps! also, i know most places have a long backorder on em but klean ridez in san jose was able to get me one within a few days. highly suggest them if your entertaining the idea of grabbing one. ask for tin or sal and mention you saw bong, good friends of mine.

I am just starting out with a few things I think will be useful at first like 35's and some basic recovery gear since i will be seeing some snow in Dec. Might add some amber/yellow pilar lights becuase I have been in whiteout conditions and I understand they are more useful.
