I already reached out to stinger, but given it’s the weekend i figured i’d check here to see if anyone had and resolved these issues.

I bought the old model of the Heigh10 radio (the not heigh10+ model) to replace a broken 5 inch uconnect. After installing the radio the carplay worked perfect for all of 24 hours. I would start the truck, and after a few seconds of radio boot up it would jump straight to carplay instantly. Then starting today, it will only boot to carplay if the radio has been on for 10 or so minutes.

When i start the truck if the phone is plugged in (this radio does not have wireless carplay) it will not recognize that a phone is plugged in. The phone will be charging, and will ask for permission to connect. Then after 10 minutes the radio will suddenly recognize the phone and boot up carplay. After that i can unplug the phone and plug it back in and it will boot to carplay instantly. But the moment i turn off and start the truck again it will take 10 minutes before it will boot back into carplay.

Things i already tried: the radio firmware is up to date, and the Pac is also up to date. Tried taking the radio out and plugging the phone directly into the back of the radio (without the usb extension) and same results, takes 10 minutes before recognizing carplay. Tried multiple different usb cords, tried a wireless adapter, all same results.

ultimately i drive a lot for work and i’m constantly in and out of my jeep. So if it’s going to take 10 minutes to get carplay working every time now that essentially makes it useless for me. But i figure theres gotta be some fix since it worked perfectly for the first day.

Are you using Andoid or IOS? It could be settings within your phone that's the problem. Which USB are you using? The one on the dash or the one under the armrest?

I’m using IOS, and i’m using the only usb port that can do carplay. Like i mentioned carplay was working 100% fine the first day, now the radio just won’t recognize it for the first 5 minutes the jeep is running. So it seems to be an issue with the radio itself since i tested it with multiple cords and multiple phones

Are you saying the same thing happens even if you don't have the phone plugged in when you start the Jeep? It seemed like you made it a specific point to say "When I start the truck if the phone is plugged in".

No matter what it won’t register carplay for the first 10 minutes. If the phone is plugged in when it starts it will take 10 minutes, if it’s not plugged in and i start it, then plug it in after it boots up it will also take 10 minutes.
The only tome it boots into carplay instantly is if i let the jeep run for 10 with the phone unplugged then plug it in after the 10 minutes it will boot into carplay the moment i plug it in

Ok. I'm using Android and I don't have any issues. The reason I asked the other question is because I've noticed that when I use the USB on the dash, it seems to have issues. But if I use the USB under the armrest, it works with no issues. That's the only thing I can suggest trying. Wish I could've been more help.

are you using a heigh10 radio? This aftermarket radio only does carplay through the rear seat usb on the back of the center console. Unless you specifically wire it up to another one. But even them it only does it through one USB
