I also went with the toyo 35s on my rubi, although mine are a bit wider than that. Traction is better, I think take off is slower but I added my winch at the same time, so double whammy. Police road side speed indicators show 2 mph higher than my speedometer. I took it off road a couple of times since the change and it still works great. It is a little louder on the highway than it used to be with the wider wheel.

I have 35 x 12.5 x 16 atturro m/t. I still get 22 on the highway at 80. 20 in town. I get 14.5 pulling my boat. I have a diesel so the torque makes the difference unnoticeable. The atturro tires were not my choice. I used run grabber x3s. But these came with the vehicle. I will say that after 6k miles I love the tires. They are very balanced and smooth. They have a little wine at highway speeds but nothing the radio doesn't cancel out. They have been smoother and better balanced than any mud terrain I have ever ran. You might give them a look as they are more affordable .

I replaced the stock 33" on my Rubicon with 35" KO2s, I also went with a slightly wider 17" rim. No issues moving up a size on the Rubicon, the speedo is off 3-5mph depending on speed so will update that eventually. The only thing I would reconsider if I did this again was to look at

an 18" rim for slightly better on road handling.

anybody know if any good wheel and tire packages with moderate to good deals? I have a 21 Mojave with kenda 35in looking to stay with same size tires.
I need a 35 in tire with offset that won’t be sticking out excessively.

also will an 18 inch rim drive better than 17in?

I'm still at stock but I'm thinking maybe 35's when it's time. Has anyone had trouble with a sop refusing to put them on? Just browsing on the Discount site, it defaults to stock only 33's. Maybe the stores will still put them on???

Another option for a 35 inch tire is the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT 255/85r17. If you like the wide tire look, it isn't for you, but it has advantages.

There was a slight power loss going to the larger diameter tire, but not much. I used Jscan to adjust the speedometer.

The weight is lower than any other 35 inch tire I could find, even as an E rated tire.

The handling is better. Especially in rain and dry.

No rubbing.

Fits on stock rims without issue.

Adds an inch increase to clearance. Doesn't seem like much but I noticed a difference on trails I ran with the 33' tires.

I got slightly better fuel economy with the Wildpeak AT's. The increased off road ability offset this for me.

@Prescottmojave noted, our stores will install 315/70R-17 or 35x12.50R-17's on the factory 17x7.5 wheels as this is a safe application per the USTRA guidelines.

My apologies for the hassle with the website when searching larger sizes. I would remove the vehicle information and then search by size.

Hope you don't mind me following up by Direct Message.

Which metric tire is closest to a 35/11.50/17? @Discount Tire
Also it shows on your website I can order a 35/11.50/17 in C1 rating in a Nitto Recon Grappler if you punch it in on the website

In 17-inch metric, there really isn't a flotation equivalent. 285/75R-17 or 305/70R-17 would be the closest.

On a side note, I looked into availability for the 35x11.50R-17 Recon Grappler, and unfortunately this tire is sold out and on back order. For some reason our site is showing this model available and it's not. The Ridge Grappler and Trail Grappler are available in this size, however.

No worries about anything. This was jsut me killin time at work browsing around and asking about it. I had a feeling that they would be ok to install if I talked to my local store.

I have a Rubicon 4.10 gear that currently has the stock Falken AT 33’s on it. It has no lift on the Jeep. I will need tires soon and looking at going to the 35’s specifically the Toyo Open Country AT3. What are the pros and cons to switching from 33’s to 35’s?
I have the same model and went to 35" KO2 and new wheels. As far as gearing with the 4.10 there is no problem going to 35". Positives are the truck looks better with the larger tire, having a larger tire lets you drive over bigger stuff. :) Negatives, you will need to adjust your speedo, the 35" make the ride more "floatie" so if you have this as a daily driver you may want to consider moving up in wheel size to 18". I loved the Wildpeak, but their larger size was only in E rating or 10 ply, would make the ride too stiff for the Gladiator so whatever tire you choose you may want to consider load rating. GL!

I went with BFG KO2's in a 35x12.5x17. Cons are speedo will be off a little and with 3:73 gears it falls out of 8th gear more. Pros are looks much better and makes the truck look more proportional. Still has plenty of power on take off and to haul stuff.
