Had a strange issue with the 8.4" system...the audio became very 'static like and garbled' (hard to put in words) across all systems - radio, media, CarPlay, etc. I powered the unit off and on, still the same...turned truck completely off and back, same issue. Luckily, after the truck sat all last night, it seems to have 'corrected' itself this morning and is back to normal.

Anyone experience this?

Yep- happens to me every few weeks, along with the entire system freezing every couple of days. Was going to take it to the dealer, but they'll need to keep it for a couple of days until they can duplicate it, and evidently the only "fix" is to replace the head unit with another one that will end up doing the same thing.... Just waiting for a convenient time where I don't need my truck for a couple of days.

Thanks for the insight...I hope it doesn't come back, but hope is not something I'd fall back on. Please share if you find any resolution to your problem.

Just had the same issue with mine. Hopefully sitting overnight will fix the glitch. Did you end up having to take yours to the dealer?

The main thing that sucks about mine is the fact the icons won't stay put and once again it's back to half the apps not being available for the first 2 or 3 minutes of any trip, then they appear - but the app icons I put on the bottom row for quick access keep disappearing because they aren't available as I start driving so it keeps putting back the stupid climate icon - don't need it, it can go completely away since the JT has BUTTONS on the dash.
Otherwise - no problems. Just can't figure why it has to keep getting AT&T cell access for something like off road pages. Really? That should be built-in! Not an app is has to access online every start.
So my next dealer visit - I'm going to complain about disappearing icons so Jeep at least has it on record.

You might have to get one of those cellular repeaters so you have a good signal for the Jeep. ;)

The problem has not come back...but, I will file a complaint next time I am at the dealership for service. I'd rather they have a record of it, just in case it decides to misbehave again!

This was IN TOWN and in Colorado. Yeah, it's a problem here RECENTLY but for months it was no issue. Then I noticed in the middle of town where we could see towers, it sits........ and sits...........and sits, then finally you have icons and apps.
The most STUPID part is why the hell off road pages, the GAUGES, are an APP that's not on the truck?
That's as bad as saying "sorry, we can't tell how much fuel you have because the fuel gauge app isn't downloaded yet"
I mean, seriously, things LOCAL to the truck - temperature, oil pressure, etc. depend on an app? The steering angle, pitch and roll, are you in 2H or 4H rely on an app that is NOT local to the truck? That's just plain DUMB. I can see things that aren't to do with the truck or that may change like the manual, etc. but the gauges? You have to wait 2 or 3 minutes for the app before you can open it.
What happens if you are in the middle of NE and KS like we were where there is NO cell reception and you start your truck - you can't use the off road pages.

Try a hard reboot, remove negative cable from battery, separate the secondary negative cable from that. Leave off 15 minutes, hook everything back up.

Might fix it, might not.

Sometimes for myself when I plug in my Samsung phone for Android Auto it doesnt recognize the phone as a phone or the sound will sound horrible muddy.

For the muddy sound it seems that switching over to FM then back to Android Auto works like normal.

When phone isnt recognized its a bit more of a shit show. Turn of jeep disconnect reconnect, reboot phone, try different cable then it some point it is magically working just fine again.
