Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Funny enough Clayton doesn’t use isolators but I found a thread that they recommend the metal cloak ones. Or factory ones now. Which I have not put in yet but seeming if this is where the noise is those may solve a good bit of it.
it's not isolators, I have the factory in mine.

issue seems to be that it's damn near impossible to get a proper axle angle on these and there is an opening in the stack. The axle would have to be too far back or angled too far downwards to get the angles right to collapse the stack which is what it's designed to be.

it also causes some choppy ride as the springs bounce off each other, fighting the shocks.

solution is probably either just replace with something else, which I will, or install an angle shim to make them sit stacked better.

I think the factory ones would be quieter. I don't know for sure what type of polymer the metalcloak option uses but I think it is the one that is well known and prone to making noise. I think that the bushings in the Clayton kits are also the same type of 'noisy' polymer - I could be thinking of a totally different company but thought I read that somewhere.

Not really sure what the solution is for that if that is the sole source of the noise. Maybe some of the dry graphite power used for key locks could be a quick test substance to see if it quiets things down?

That would help explain why I sometimes feel a small bounce. Does yours resonate loud like mine does in the go pro video?

Then I’ll have to buy you a drink. I’ve about pulled out my hair chasing this sound the last weeks
I went all around with Clayton having me check everything 3x. Thats when I started just tapping things with the mallet and the only thing that vibrated was the spring.

Yeah we’re emailing back and forth now. Do you have the standards or the HD’s

So I don’t leave anyone hanging incase they come up on this issue. I found two issues today. One my driver side rear spring had definitely moved. Not sure how or when but it was rotated away from the nub on the isolator above it. Two the spring’s definitely need isolators in there. You could see rust and bare metal on the underside of the springs where they were contacting each wrap.

After pulling the rear springs out I went through and cleaned everything up inside the spring bucket and glued the rubber isolator into place then pried apart the springs and inserted the isolators. Once that was done I got the rear springs back in and made sure 100% they were clocked appropriately.

After a couple back and forth through the subdivision and took my wife for a sushi lunch all is quiet. The real test will be another off road day with some flexing to see if everything stays quiet. But for now everything appears to be working correctly.

That noise would drive me ballistic.
Any chance that coating the top of the springs in herculiner/durabak/hell even the iron crap from harbor freight etc. would provide enough rubber sound isolation to get rid of that?
I've got a factory bushing that is crying out every once in a while but nowhere near as annoying as this.

I just came here searching for this same sound and glad I found it. I have the same sounds coming from underneath mine as well, was getting afraid that it may be drive train related. 2020 Sport S stock suspension.

Mine was from the Clayton springs. And unfortunately it has returned. There seems to be no permanent fix other than replacing those springs with another brand. Even trying the metal cloak isolators were worn down quick. I will be switching the rear springs out for another brand in the very near future. For now since I know I where it’s coming from I’ll just turn the radio up.

Reviving a dead thread, but did @Clayton Off Road provide you with a solution other than sourcing a competitors set of springs? Just got back from Moab and the back half of mine sounds eerily similar to yours. You can really hear it when coming up to a stop. Makes the Jeep sound like it's a 1981 Jeep and not a 2021 Jeep....

Unfortunately no. I ended up replacing my springs with metal cloak and no problems since

Did you go with the MetalCloak 3.5" springs or the 4.5" ones? And did you replace both front and back or just the back?
