Had plans to remove the Mopar 2 inch lift today and go back to original max tow parts. The guy doing the work talked me into just swapping the springs back to the OEM Max Tow springs. He said all the rest of other parts are the same as stock. He also said the FOX shocks were a huge upgrade over the stock parts and will give me a better ride towing or not and he recommended I keep them as they will not affect the ride height. Does this all sound right to the internet experts here? The more I learn these days the more I get confused with information overload.

The majority of the lift kit is the longer springs. The Fox shocks are better than factory. The Fox shocks are a little bit longer, but I don't think that should be a problem.

You should make sure you're not going to bottom out the shocks at full bump. I'd expect them to be longer than stock.

Ok thanks for all input. The shop is replacing all the lift parts with the OEM parts.

A lot of people buy the Fox shocks from Rubicon owners when they install a lift kit. I would sell the lift kit, since you are removing it, and then watch the Member Marketplace for a set of Rubicon take-offs to install.

Why did you decide to remove your Mopar lift?

I have a Max Tow and a Mopar lift in the garage waiting to go on.

you should probably put the stock lower control arms back on the front to maintain the proper steering geometry. The ones in the mopar lift are a minor bit longer. Also curious about the reasoning behind the "returning to stock". I have a max tow and was considering going to the mopar lifft eventually.

Already done, all lift parts were removed and replaced with the original stock.

If your using the vehicle to tow you will be happier with the stock springs. I swapped in Rubi parts on my JT and the ride changed noticeably, especially when a trailer was on. Put MAX Tow springs back in with Fox shocks and love it.

???

It was a legitimate question. I'd really like your thoughts on why. Were you having problems or otherwise unhappy with the Mopar lift. I want to avoid doing something I would regret later.

Thanks!
