Feel free to post more pics. I still think the Tazer is fine for switching on the bed lights when I need it, but I really would like some sort of idiot light for when the vehicle is running and the tailgate is down, and this would work for that.

Used a fusetap to f97. Super clean install very happy with it. I may design some way of moving the magnet so I can kill the light with the gate down but for now I'm happy (like driving with a larger item and gate open)

Idk if it’s been said or not but if the vehicle is running then you can hit the button in the cab to keep the lights on.

if it’s off you can leave a door cracked to keep the lights on.

If you want to build your own switches. I used some waterproof 40 degree down lights meant for RV exterior lighting, dual colors amber/white. Amber attracts fewer bugs as i sleep in the bed when camping. Anything that ties into the stock bed lamp will comes on when lock/unlock doors.

Maybe run a wire from the hoods pressure switch to a tailgates magnet switch like i have. Then the hood open indicator could have a dual-meaning
