Does anyone know if they make this part in metal not plastic and if not a mopar part number for the plastic piece.

Sorry, I don't have the answer, but wondering if you still have the broken tab. Might be able to just epoxy it. Seems partially hollow, so I would guess that it could potentially be even stronger then the original. Not sure though.

I'll have to search for it, but I'm sure someone made a metal replacement........

Appears the cable didn't get back into the slot it was supposed to go back into - you have to push it firmly all the way back against the side opening, behind that piece.
.
Same thing would happen with a replacement, otherwise.
Never seen one break like that before.

The stock ones will take a heck of a lot of weight and use............ IF the cable is properly locked into place behind that part. A lot of folks have hauled plywood, sheetrock and more, so I'd expect replacements to last a long time.
The only time I'd see a need for anything "tougher" or different is if the stock parts are taken beyond their limits.
