Exactly I paid on mine for years . It was a real struggle . Mine was set upnin a graduated schedule where the payments got larger and larger as I went through the loan .I paid mine off 45 years ago. Small as they were, it took some working long hours. Otherwise, parents couldn't kick in a dime at the time, and there weren't the freebies there are now, it was all working long hours after class and on weekends to pay for it all.
Yeah, that's a nearly uniquely American thing. Think it's only the US, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Poland, Netherlands, Slovenia and Croatia that tax winnings. Everywhere else in the world they're tax free.That must be a Canadian thing............. winnings are taxed here, gambling winnings, that car you won on Wheel of Misfortune, whatever.
