Thanks.I got it all figured out.Had them send me a new one that wasn’t corrupted from the start and on install everything is working fine.
With the Tazer installed, the extension cable is not connected to the tazer. The extension is plugged into the SGW on one end, and hanging loose on the other end. The SGW is not connected to anything at this point, you could literally remove it and the extension cable and throw it away if you never ever planned on removing the taser for any reason. The only time the extension cable is electrically part of your Jeep is when the taser is removed and the SGW is reconnected. The extension cable can not possibly have any effect on the operation of the taser.
So, assuming you have everything installed properly, meaning the factory wires that were plugged into the SGW are now plugged into the taser JL mini, the extension cable is not part of the troubleshooting equation. When you installed the taser, did you leave it just hanging by the wires, did you tuck it up somewhere and zip tie it, or did you use an aftermarket mounting bracket?
The first time I installed a JL Mini, I just tucked it up into the wiring and hanging from the plugs. Months later, when I started having some random issues, someone suggested making sure the plugs in the tazer were seated properly. I checked, and I was able to push them back in a tiny bit. After I did that, the problems went away. For anther 6 months, and then the same thing happened. So I ordered this mounting bracket, and never had the problem again on that Jeep or the next 3 Jeeps with Tazers + mounting bracket.
TLDR: Make sure the wires are plugged in tight to the tazer.
