Thankfully my dealer doesn't give a shit about my TAZR or anything else I've "added" to mine.

And yes, extension cables FTW
I didn't want to take chances

Just an FYI….for ya’ll who live in a state with yearly inspections & emissions testing.
I learned……when you reboot (and/or unmarry) the Tazer, it resets/removes all the emissions data.
I took the Tazer out (unmarry, reboot, etc) the night before I took it to the dealer for inspection & emissions. They couldn’t perform the emissions test cuz the data was reset when I rebooted the Tazer. I had to re-schedule and go back 2 weeks later - while driving it to create ‘drive cycles’ to gather emissions data.

For next year…..I’ll probably talk to a local mechanic for inspections. From what I understand, I could leave the Tazer in place for the inspection.

Yeah, others here have warned of that exact thing. They sort of got screwed as the emissions data was GONE when they showed up for inspection and had to start over.

Good to Know

I've read on the internets that at least 200 miles must be logged to just even get in the inspection bay.

The two plugs up under the dash can be easily removed with a single hook tool. Press in the tabs with the hook and pull. You don’t need your fingers up in there at all and you don’t have to be pulling on the wires.

I installed mine and did the changes so long ago I'll have to trad all the instructions again to do anything to it. I remember that the plug was a real PITA. But what about my tire size and gear ratio changes? Really don't want to drive with it all set back to factory.

The degree of difficulty depends on the year and model. Earlier years are definitely easier to do this task on. Folks with the Alpine Premium sound system may have more difficulty getting to the two plugs. 2024+ models with the X packages have little to no room to work up there. I tried various pick tools on mine with no success. I had a 2018 JLUR with the Alpine Premium Sound System and no tools were needed to get those out. Even with the Alpine I could get both hands in there.
Here is a link that shows some pictures of differences between years. (36) Has anyone with a 2024 installed a TAZER or ECRI | Page 2 | Jeep Wrangler Forums (JL / JLU) -- Rubicon, 4xe, 392, Sahara, Sport - JLwranglerforums.com

When they build the JT they start with the plug and build around it.

For some, yes - but it seems not all Gladiators are made exactly the same. In my case, for example, a bundle of wires goes across there right below the connectors. You can get the tab depressed - but must be pulling on the wires as you can't to anything but press the tab.
There's a lot of back and forth on this, and it appears to depend somewhat on the options, maybe even years, and now they are saying the X has another bar across there.

Get Jscan and make the tire size and gear ratio changes before marrying the Tazer.
