I could get my hand up there, just barely, to release the lock clips. One of the two connectors, I could get on the wires and pull the connector out. For the other, I bent a hook into a stiff piece of wire (a coat hanger will do) and hooked the wire bundle so I could pull it easier--gently--don't want to damage the connections.

I just got my tazer yesterday. Should I plug it I to my computer before I install it to see if it updates?

I've been told to update the firmware to the latest before installing it in the Jeep.

I should really get to installing mine...with my bear paw hands...I am sure it's not going to be fun.

I too suffer from the bear paws, and it was NOT fun unplugging those 2 harnesses from the factory unit. After that, it's all gravy plugging and unplugging into the Tazer, because it just plugs into those harnesses and has plenty of working room, and you just tuck it out of the way until you need to update it.

Has anyone been able to use a Mac to update the tazer jl mini. Thinking of getting one, but I have a Mac.

Yes, I use a Mac, and have used it to update mine since I got it...Twice now.

You go to their website and download the "ZPU" tool for your Mac, and install it on your App Dock on your computer. And when you plug in your Tazer to update it, you open the ZPU program and update it through it. Works great. :like:
