They didn't indicate anything specific to the customers who got the wrong one except to return it to the seller for a refund. They said they are trying to crack down on unauthorized sellers doing this.
Weird. Pic from an earlier post looked like an error with ZAuto labeling.

Wow that's a steaming pile of crap. Item arrived with two different stickers on different sides of the box. One sticker says Tazer Mini. The other says Tazer JL Lite. Installed the utility, firmware version is 11.3.2-102921d0v2

That 'd0' string is the only way to ID this thing? And that means this is a Lite, not a Mini?

First of all…what the hell is a Woot? Anyway, if I were a betting person, I’d bet they got a smoking deal on a bunch of “Lite’s” and had that discount figured in and still make money. NO way would I do business with them. Mental note to self… Woot Won’t Win any of my business.

Anywhere I’ve seen the Tazer for sell they’ve been for the same price. When my time comes I’ll go straight to them and also get the extension.

I usually consider woot the amazon outlet site, and on the rare occasion you can pick up something good for a deal.
Didn’t realize this would turn into a snafu. I plan to check mine tomorrow.

Its a crap shoot which one you will get. What isn't a crap shoot is that if its the wrong one, the return will be free, easy, and painless.

Amazon returns are hassle free. Nobody is getting "ripped off".

Shoot, if I needed one, and knowing that some are Lites and some are Minis, I'd probably order 3 of them just to make sure I got a Mini and then return the others.

To save $100, its worth a roll of the dice, especially since there is zero actual risk.

I’d spend the extra $100 knowing I’m dealing with a reputable outfit. My time is money since I’d probably have to schedule time to install it. After ordering it and receiving the wrong part tells me their service is substandard…not worth supporting. Sometimes it’s not about the money.

I agree it's not always about the money. But in this case it sounds more like a manufacturing issue, with the boxes having mixed labeling indicating both versions. The pictures others here have posted show both a barcode for the mini, and a barcode for the lite on different ends of the same box. Since Amazon scans the barcode to eliminate human error pulling the order, you really can't blame them for what appears to be Z-Auto's screw up supplying them with the product to ship. Amazon is a pretty reputable company, and while nobody is perfect, their track record of making good on any issues has been pretty stellar in my book, especially for a company that literally ships more product per day than any other company on the planet. I've had them make good on things that were clearly not their problem.

Just for reference, I personally placed 167 separate orders with Amazon in 2021, and many of those orders were for multiple items. That doesn't include orders placed by my wife, or orders charged to my job.

What did Woot say?
If nothing else, it looks like from the pics that it shipped from amazon, in amazon packaging. So amazon's rep is on the line here regardless. I doubt that at this point woot has different warehouses. Before Amazon bought them, sure. But Amazon acquired them years ago, and they're known for their efficiency. That probably means at least one of amazon's warehouse's has this mis/multi-marked batch of product on their shelves. Think that would concern them either way. Purely academic, I wonder if tracking info shows the bad batch all shipping from the same location or not?
