I traced the outline of the bumper, took off the air dams, cut them down with an angle grinder, touched them up with sandpaper, and put them back on

They will not fit. I just took the sport bumper off of the wife lady's JLU sport and replaced it with a Rubicon plastic with these closeout panels. they will not fit.

I did the same, but finding it impossible to fit them back on. Did it take a lot of wiggling? I just can't get them to fit.

Somewhat. IIRC I brought them up from the bottom by tilting the outside edge back and sliding the inside edge in first if that makes any sense.

How did you get them off? I removed all the small bolts but it doesn't want to come off.. Did you have to remove the factory plastic skidplate?

there are bolts on the inside edge facing the tire, and then a plastic clip that connects it to the plastic skid plate underneath. If you just follow the contor all the way around you will see the one or two little hidden connections and then it was come off easy.

I trimmed mine down too, and by the way, I think they're actually called closure panels. The air dam is that hunk of plastic under the engine, at the front end, that supposedly protects the engine.

Trimmed mine as well it's easy. Dremel them some sand paper as others mentioned. That's after you mark the where you want them cut. Take off and have fun.
