The world is a rich place full of interesting people.
How about a soft top only option (Yes to tan please!)... and half doors with the soft zip-open upper panels?

Nope and I don’t disagree, there are just a pile of first timers out there and whine about the 3.6 like it’s the worst thing ever. It’s actually about the most capable 6 Jeeps is ever had. Guys are yanking travel trailers around with them, not 6.7 Powerstroke easy, but doing it. Try that with a 4.0 inline…..try that with 4.0 V6 in an older Ranger, try that with a WK and 3.7. I think the Gladiator would be killer with an old 4.7 in it without all the 4.7 drama of course. I am no way a fan of forced induction, it’s another layer of components, heat and calibrations to go with it, I will opt for any NA option.
The 3.6 is a very good engine in that it does the job. One reason that I think that there is a perceived "lack of capability" is not the engine itself but that it is dropped into the heaviest and largest CJ/Wrangler of all time. Every generation of CJ/Wrangler just gets bigger and bigger. HP/weight is a bigger deal to the driving experience than people make it out to be.

Also, I see no way in hell that Stellantis will ever put a Hurricane in the JL/JT platform. The twin-turbo I6 engine supposedly runs very hot (common feature of Turbo gas engines) and Jeep has shared how much of a challenge it was to keep the EcoDiesel and Hemi cool enough as is.

How about this...just honor the stinking warranty and stop making it so difficult to resolve an issue.

You don't want a hurricane.........ask a Mopar tech.

The more viable and reliable option is only a Hemi OR at HO version of the 2.0T with eTorque. I have the 2.0T eTorque in my JLUR and that thing is way better than the 3.6........instant torque and it's a rev happy SOB.
Yeah, I remember him saying some not so good stuff. I hope they get the bugs worked out in that power plant. I was riding around in a Wagoneer rental this past weekend up North and that thing has some really nice grunt. I mean it moved that beast of a vehicle loaded down with crap, no problemo! Actually I would have guessed it was a V8 if I didn’t already know what it had in it. That power plant in a Gladiator would be impressive. Only negative was they tuned the exhaust to be totally quiet. Hopefully they could add some character to it for the right vehicle.

Here's something they CAN do with a software update and everyone would LOVE it:

An AP in the dash screen that re-calibrates mph etc based on wheel size. YOU enter your new wheel size after installing bigger tires and it adjusts odometer, mpg mph etc...without having to go to dealership. Heck the $10 Walmart computer on my BICYCLE lets me set tire size.

Get the prices in check, first and foremost.
Offer a gladiator with the lift and 35's at a price that actually makes sense.
A usable bed inverter.
More camera options. 360?
factory backup camera washer
Tow package that has wider mirrors, gearing and brake controller.
usb-c plug on the dash for powering devices/phones
Paint protection on the hinges standard for all jeeps. (and do something about paint bubbling there too)

The 3.6 is a rock solid motor all things said and done. It is much like a Toyota 5VZE. Nothing remarkable, adequate power, fair fuel economy, millions built and it will run nearly forever if you maintain it.

I do think it catches a lot of flak because they could have had the 5.7 Hemi as an option on the JT. Take rate probably would have been similar to the WK2 Grand Cherokee that offered both.

You mentioned the heat soak issue- the reality is that where there is a will there is a way but under Tavares anything that wasn't hybrid or electrified wasn't getting the R&D dollars.

As an aside-- The fact that the 4xe was the #1 selling hybrid in the US and Jeep didn't move heaven and earth to get it into the JT is criminally negligent on Tavares' part.

Yeah and the rear coolant pass over tube behind the cylinder head .......once it starts to leak or needs to be replaced.........the body has to be removed from the frame to replace it. $1000s of dollars in labor for a $25 part. Fuckin engine out/body off like a 90s Ferrari.......good times to be had and bent over for.

Yeah, I remember seeing that in the body off frame picture. What a cluster. I miss the old days where manufacturers would have access panels in the floor to get to hard to reach stuff. They need to bring those back or start giving more thought to servicability!

You ain't kidding. Things like that are gifts from corporate's engineers to dealer service departments.

They won't because they make more money on servicing vehicles than selling them

Fix those stupid visor clips that break. A visor should last more than a year before the plastic around the post holding it in pops apart and breaks making it dangle in front of you while you drive.
Honor the Jeep Wave oil changes your dealerships refused to schedule during Covid so we couldn’t use them. We paid out good money for the “privilege” of having those as part of our service and were not allowed to use them.

Maybe if they make it quieter and not flap or vibrate.

I never had an issue with warranty at my dealership.

Paint protection on the hinges standard for all jeeps. (and do something about paint bubbling there too)
Not a problem on all Jeeps. I know multiple ones that don't have this issue.

Fix those stupid visor clips that break.
Mine was fixed by the dealership and hasn't broken since 2020. The passenger side visor hasn't broken in 4 years.

Here's my list:
  1. Price- fix it. You're killing the brand at current prices.
  2. Someday (when they get the bugs worked out - especially the cold weather issues) add a plug-in hybrid option - maybe use a multi-fuel turbine "range extender" for small size?
  3. Fix the run/stop system. I get that you guys want to keep the "doesn't remember I typically don't want it on" setting to claim the CAFE benefits, but holy cow is that system a steaming pile of poo on the 3.6. It's really intrusive and I actually almost got into trouble with it driving home from the dealer after purchasing my Gladiator (the damn thing stalled out when I hit the "Avenger button" to disable it as it was engaging at a stop light and it took a engine shut-down and restart to get it the engine going again with people behind me honking at me due to the delay!!!) Even without that issue, its way more obnoxious than the same feature on a few Toyota rentals I have driven recently (and I hate it on them too.)
  4. If you haven't already done so, add the same frame stiffening changes to the Rubicon that you do to the Mohave. Why would I want a less capable frame on my "top of the line" Rubicon X just because I am not doing Dukes of Hazard style jumps in sand dunes?
  5. Do everything you can to make routine maintenance easy and keep fighting for that with all engines and trim levels. After having 2 Renegades where it was not possible for a fat guy like me to reach the fuse for the 12V power socket/cigarette lighter (on them its waaaay up on the driver side firewall and you can either see it or touch it, but can't do both at the same time.) Changing the spark plugs on my 2014 JKUR needed partial disassembly of the top of the engine to reach some of them, etc.
  6. Pay less attention to those reviewers who say "The suspension is too rough/its not a nice daily driver", etc. Quite frankly, those guys are full of bovine exhaust. I had the "much more truck-like" 2014 JKUR and it drove like a dream (it had the solid top.) The "car media" has been bashing every vehicle that wasn't a European sports sedan for the 35+ years that I have read articles and I don't think they are ever going to change. I really don't think those guys will be happy until cars magically drive like a 1970's Buick Electra when cruising and like a formula one racer when you give it some gas, so counter them with a normal person driving a modern Jeep and see if its really not an AMAZINGLY GOOD driving experience.
  7. Keep physical buttons for important functions. Once again, the auto review media just does not give you guys the credit you deserve. Other companies are using the move to hybrids as an excuse to do "weird stuff" with their controls (shift knobs instead of levers, itty-bitty buttons that don't work when you are wearing gloves, not making the on/off button for the cruise control obvious - looking at you Toyota rental cars, etc.)
  8. For gosh sake...stop making that rear seat "hey stupid you left your kid in the back seat" alarm so sensitive. Once again the cursed Toyota rental cars were somehow worse than Jeep (and the Jeep one is REALLY ANNOYING - alerting me if I put anything on that rear seat.) Maybe there is a way to just shut it off if your youngest child is in their 20's???
  9. Can we get a nice, reliable diesel option instead of some Euro style design that is overly complex and prone to failure?
  10. If the engine bay is long enough, the Hurricane engine might be nice. If you can only fit it in by making the engine bay have no room, maybe have a hood swing-open like older semi's? I know it "won't look as much like a Jeep", but frankly as long as it sort-of looks like a Jeep instead of the weird front-end of the recent Cherokees, then its fine with me.
  11. Never ever EVER stop making the Jeep easy to customize. You guys are one of the very few/only auto makers whose design allows the owners to easily make changes to the features or their vehicles either through you or on their own. Keep doing that.

Im not so sure. I mean word gets around if a vehicle is so expensive to repair that no one wants to own it after the warranty runs out. When that happens, the cars value tanks. People do pay attention to resale when they’re deciding on a new vehicle.

Hell, I’m reading about this exact phenomenon on the Rivian forums site. People are starting to dump their trucks because their warranty is running out. They already have had a few expensive repairs that were covered under warranty but now are running scared before the warranty runs out. That brand has serious repairability issues IMO between the costs to repair combined with being tied to only a Rivian servicing network and add on top of it the lack of design thought put into repairability..
