Tensioner and Idler pulleys Water pump too?

I am going to be replacing my belt, tensioner and idler pulleys soon. Should I do the water pump while I am in that far?

No known leakage but obviously will check it thoroughly once there.

Anything else I should go ahead and replace or at least look at once that far in?

I've only owned it for 3 months and this will be my first real project on it. Ham radio install doesn't really count. I have a coolant reservoir on the way but not sure that is my coolant disappearance issue or not. No smell and Oil looks fine so hoping it is just one of the many known leak issues.

Not my first Jeep I knew what I was getting into. Previously had 86 SJ, 91 YJ, 01 XJ (miss this one), and 98 TJ. It has been 20 years since my last one though.

Jeep has just short of 69k miles is a 22 Rubi.

I’d go ahead and order one up then inspect when I was down in there on the pump. No sense in changing it out if it’s still functioning perfectly well. Then you’ll have one on hand in case it’s needed later.

What reservoir did you go with?

There are some aluminum ones out on the market that I’ve been eyeing. A couple even have a window gauge to see where the level is at.

If you change the water pump I recommend you change the thermostat also. I concur with leaving everything as is if no problems are detected.

I have the mishimoto aluminum sitting in the box. It has a window for checking level.

Following. I’ve got coolant smell at high altitudes when it’s working hard. My belief is that I have a super minor leak around the water pump. It’s never lowered the coolant level enough to matter. Meaning I top it off maybe annually.

Make sure you check the hoses and hoses connections as well. Especially the Tri-Connector. Plastic goes bad over time. Been there, done that.

Pressure test your system to locate any leaks before tearing in to it. Pay special attention to the thermostat housing and the hose clamps.

My apologies. It's this part. That's not the name for it, but that's what I keep calling it. Mine broke as I was removing it. And looking at the condition of it, I'm surprised it was still together.
