Warranty and availability aside what kit do people think is better? Looking to install on a JTSD and will not be doing rock crawling, rather I am looking for good ride and towing.

Does teraflex have a diesel specific lift? If not i'd make sure whatever one i get is diesel specific as there is a whole lot of extra weight on the front that will just smoosh springs that were made for the gasser.

TeraFlex doesn’t unfortunately. Their remedy is to add a spacer. I hate to say it because I like the company, but I think this is lazy. I kind of expect more from them.

I went with Mopar, it's a good lift kit but not a complete suspension system. The springs are diesel specific and as other companies begin to release diesel specific components we can upgrade as desired. For example Falcon just came out with diesel specific shocks, not sure if they're readily available quite yet, but you get where I'm going. Nothing is forever, especially when you're driving a Jeep.

Teraflex said the Falcon shocks are 7 months out (they hope) and also the 2.5" lift kits only raise the rear half an inch and is why they don't supply rear springs. My biggest concern is the heavier diesel engine for the front and having some way of compensating for sag in the rear when towing. Not sure if that is even an option but that would be my goal anyway.

You need to add a front spacer to the Mopar lift also if you want to look right. On the gasser at least.

I was planning on the Teraflex 1.5" spacer but only using the 1".

They are super easy to put in, so I would install the rear lift first, then put whatever spacers you need up front to get the look you want.

Sorry in advance for the rant.

If you’re looking for looks over function maybe. This is a pickup intended to carry a load whether in the back seat, bed or on the hitch. If you level it and add a back seat passenger or gear you have a stink bug look that looks ridiculous. Example, the Clayton kit engineers a reduction of .75 to 1 inch of the rake if I remember correctly, but it doesn’t remove it completely.

Years ago folks would raise the rear to install larger tires for traction on 2nd vehicles. This was a functional modification. For the life of me, I can’t find the purpose of the rear squat. Is it to make it look like people are doing work when they’re not? Kind of the sign of the times I guess. To me when you remove all of the squat you’ve removed functionality of the vehicle.

I also wonder if this is at least part of the basis for complaints of wander in the steering on center feel.

Kind of like the folks that wear there britches below their butt cheeks. Is this a fashion statement…or function off intent where it originated from…which I don’t partake in. To each their own, I get it.

I agree with your "rant", haha! When I installed my Teraflex spacers, it was to correct what I believe to be a "mis-calculation" from Mopar. The Mopar 2" lift left my truck with almost 2.75" of rake! Looked dumb to me. I want a little rake, but not that much. So, I installed the spacers to get it closer to what I wanted. Around 1.5" rake.

I will say this about trucks with lower rear ends,,,, ALL competition off-road trucks are set up that way. Not sure why.

No lift on mine ,but Teraflex spacer on the front and Falcon shocks all around. Couldn't be happier with the stance and the ride.
