It's the size of a full-size truck, so I feel like it is a little big for an overlanding-type vehicle. I kind of wish they had done this as a mid-size and done something more traditional for the full-size market.I preordered. Would prefer the rivian but specs and price wise this is much better. Looks are a bit rough but I imagine it’ll get a bit of a makeover before coming to market. Having had electric Vehicles in the past it is really nice not to be filling up all the time and having so few parts that might need maintenance. My wife’s car should last two more years or so before needing replaced this will serve that purpose.
I think it’ll complement our JT Rubicon pretty well and be perfect for light wheeling and camping here in Colorado. 300 miles of range will get me into the high country top it off for 20 minutes at a charger and then head out in the back country, no problem.
I don’t hate the design, I just think a small child could have completed this design. Clearly, Tesla’s are amazing vehicles. Clearly, Elon is broke. You can love or hate the design, that doesn't matter. But it's disgusting that he'd come forward with such bald face lies. He's more than capable of producing a vehicle with all those promised specs. But to stand there and try to tell people that if they "lend" him some money, they will be able to buy it for $40k??? It's more like $400k. It's a cheap cash grab and an insult
I have owned three Tesla`s in the last ten years, if you buy buy the extended warranty. I had a battery bank go bad cost 9k it was pro rated so i paid 3k plus hazmat disposal, had one of the four motors go bad 27k lucky covered under warranty, main computer went south the one that controls the other hundred computers 17k plus had to wait four months as out of stock, steering control went bad 5k. I would never own a Tesla out of warranty each of mine were less than three years old.I preordered. Would prefer the rivian but specs and price wise this is much better. That’s brutal. Tesloop Is using them as fleet vehicles and they’ve had nowhere near that many problems with 500,000ish miles. They have a million miles across their fleet.I have owned three Tesla`s in the last ten years, if you buy buy the extended warranty. Put my deposit down today. 3 motor, 2.9 sec 0-60 model, with $7k full auto option. When it comes to market in about 5+ years (my personal opinion/ wildass guess), I shall sell my 2019 Shelby Baja Raptor, which by then will be nearly worthless, of course, thanks to depreciation. Can't hardly wait, and thoroughly love the Cybertruck's awesome styling!
The first two my last one had the steering issue. I`ve had a lot of time to talk to the techs (not by choice) and lets just say that Tesla is good at keeping things under wrap, i only lease them so i do not worry too much it`s just the inconvenience, when they work they are great. That’s brutal. Have you had this bad reliability across all three vehicles?
Now this worries me more than anything. Hopefully they fix whatever needs to be fixed in the next 3 years LOLThat’s brutal. Tesloop Is using them as fleet vehicles and they’ve had nowhere near that many problems with 500,000ish miles. They have a million miles across their fleet.

This is a very interesting observation - I am sure they will think of something for rescue when it goes to production.I would also like to add, that unless you are living in a part of the world where getting shot at is legitimately a bigger risk then getting into a car crash bullet proof glass is a super bad idea.
Picture this, its February, some idiot just slid through a red light T boning you, you are now trapped upside down in your mangled stainless armored car... bystanders are doing all they can to break the window and get you out, the fire department is still 10 minutes away with the jaws... and you smell smoke. I would never want armored glass in my car, I live in Michigan, not Mogadishu.
