Provided he has current and adequate insurance...
Yeah, I sure know and can relate to that. It's why we carry uninsured and underinsured coverage.
The kid that killed my father was only good for 25K - the rest was covered under my father's insurance and even that maxed out.
There's no guarantee that anyone has insurance - adequate or at all. You could drive years with no insurance and no one would ever know unless you got pulled over or in an accident. So we all need to act as if the other guy has no insurance. Around here, it's a given they won't, and the local cops turn the other way to be PC.

Driving home from local beach and got hit. I was sitting at a red light and when it turned green, homie thought that meant go faster and rammed another car and me. I jumped out to check my kids in the backseat and once i calmed down enough to realize they were ok...I proceeded to "help" the guy out of his car. He apparently "hit" his head pretty bad into my hand as i was helping him.

Younger couple was next to me (left side) and took most of the hit. The guy who ran the light was given 9 citations and taken to local hospital (via police escort) for some blood analysis.... guess that whatever was so important isn't any more lol !!!!

Driver of other car was taken to hospital too for precautions but should be ok.

All in all... hope its just limited to suspension. Motor fired up and shifted just fine. Alignment may be off a bit lol . Getting it towed to my buddy's shop tomorrow or the next day.

My first mod was a dash cam front and rear.

Back when I was a cop there was a DUI guy that ran into a little kid on a bike and drug him for like hundred yards or more skinned him for the most part. From what I heard County Sheriffs found the driver hiding down in the woods off the road. They had to “help” him walk back up to the road as he kept “losing his balance” and falling on the rocks on the ground.

They are just 35s and 17x9s with -38 bs. No regear. Get 16.8 to 18.3 on the lieometer…never hand calculated.

Was gonna lift it but my wife drives it more then I do and she didn’t want any problems with putting the kids in the back.

So I had it towed to my buddy’s shop today. Waiting for insurance adjuster on Wednesday to see what he says.
Axle is really pushed to passenger side. Front coils are leaning passenger and back. No fluid is leaking from anywhere underneath. Won’t shift into N or D …..

Weird that it won't shift into N or D? Hopefully it's just control arms and body work. When I was hit my axle was pushed back about 2" on the drivers side. How do the body seams look? Hopefully your frame is not sprung. Do prepare to wait ... it took me exactly 2 months to get my rig back and I don't think those wait times have improved much.

Very similar to what happend to me on the 7/1 (except I was parked and in my house making dinner when this idiot hit my JT). Still fighting with the adjuster. Rear axle snapped and all they want to do is replace the driver side components, get a new housing and thats all.

Make sure you keep on them for all its worth. Get your frame checked, especially the body bolts measured in an "X" form.

Dont forget the diminished value claim. Insurance loves to lowball you on them and state "you need to be in the process of selling the vehicle" or "we can only do it once you sell the vehicle" which is bullshit. Keep on them for it and hold your ground. Eventually they come around as they get pressured into closing open claims. I did that when my JK got hit, after 3 months they finally relented on the $3400 I wanted and gave it to me vs the $1800 they were offering.

ok so...... $10k in damages found as of 8/10 Then on 8/11 my shops starts pulling front end off and sees frame is bent and axle housing has hairline crack on underside.

The adjuster did agree that the frame was bent and axle was cracked. He said he was gonna look into getting a new frame lol. Still waiting to get estimate for frame and axle housing. I told him absolutely not...you will get a call from me everyday until you just total it. I will nickle and dime you til no end.

My lawyer buddy is waiting for me to give the ok lol

Well….so much for just suspension parts…..

I think the total is around $29k ….. as of this past Friday lol. At least it will be new again. Literally lol.

I guess them not totaling it is a bonus for me, as far as diminished value goes. I’m probably just gonna dump that money back into it when it gets done.

Since my wife drove this more then me…yeah…4th or 5th time I drive it…I get hit lol….I went out and got here a new one. After they said the frame needed to be replaced, I figured it would be a while lol.

Probably just gonna turn this into a full time trail / beach rig. Debating the motobilt bed chop kit.

Oh well…:we shall see…
