ok I have asked this question a few times in different threads and never got an answer so I'll try again. I pull my Gladiator behind my class a motorhome and have a baseplate installed for my tow bar with ready brake. M question is, does anyone know if an aftermarket bumper would clear the baseplate hookups or does it connect to the frame where the baseplate is bolted on?

We would have to see a picture and knowing the brand of base plate would help. There is surely a solution, but without more information who knows...

It’s a road master baseplate and I’d just as soon keep it. I already bought another hitch for the motorhome with less drop because of lift and 35 tires. It actually fits through the plastic skid plate and I’m sure I can fabricate an aluminum or steel skid to work, but I’m concerned on where an aftermarket bumper fastens to the frame.

Well since no one had an answer about my baseplate fitting with an aftermarket bumper I’ll try this question. It appears that a LoD bumper will fit according to their installation directions and pics. Only problem is nobody has the one I want in stock. My criteria was the winch sits low in the bumper and doesn’t bolt in where the baseplate is attached. The Black Ops bumper seems to look like it would work. Any reviews from someone that has an LoD bumper about fit and quality?

Is there a bumper with a front receiver hitch and room for a winch? Trying to figure out how to mount a road feeder

Don’t buy MP concepts. I had to paint it because the power coat is terrible and the paint on the bolts came off way too easily. The winch plate is horrible and doesn’t line up right to work with a winch and it’s only 3/16” steel and all around not as substantial as other options. I paid another $400 and received a warn winch plate (on the second delivery attempt. Yesterday, I started to install it and realized that it’s impossible without the Rubicon front hitch mounting brackets and hardware. I ordered some brackets and obscenely overpriced hardware and shipping. Between, the bumper, winch plate, paint and supplies and now the skid plate brackets and hardware.

Paint came out good though, I let it sit and cure for a week and then this afternoon, I’m scuffing it with 1000 grit and putting on a few coats of satin clear.

I was actually close to getting that aluminum bumper to swap out my heavy steel eBay bumper - now, glad I put it off and didn't go for it.
With the professional powder coating and original cost of the steel bumper (now for sale) I have under 700 in it.

I should have just bought the Warn bumper I wanted. It came out to almost the exact same price all in. I might have saved 20 lbs max after you figure the heavy ass winch plate I bought. My only advantage is I’m keeping the OEM plus look I’ve been after. I’ll be ok with it if this satin clear goes on ok. I’ve been putting it off because I might cry if it doesn’t. lol

Not sure if ive posted in here before or not but this is the SAVVY Legacy and I could not love it any more than I do. Ultra light, strong with a replaceable shell and center mounted tow point to minimize yaw. To my knowledge its the tightest bumper you can get without cutting back the frame

Can you run the factory skid with this?
