Exactly... Even a mommy car will leave the raptor in its rear view mirror on the highway, and you don't even get a real off-road vehicle out of it. Again, a world class dirt road overland cushy machine and if that's his purpose then he should have bought this before he spent all his money on a built up Jeep. It is MUCH better suited for that.

So I just watched the video, the most challenging thing on that video was listening to the two douchebags in it. Running down a bunch of wet FSRs in a vehicle that used to be a pure road vehicle and the factory threw in better shocks, a HUGE sticker on the side and stouter tires and then feeling comfortable saying it's a better truck that something that is ACTUALLY built for off-roading ... Damn that's a stretch. I did get a good laugh when they put in in 4L to get through a tiny mud rut and a shallow creek. In summary It pains me I gave them the click.

And to the OP, if the Raptor is better suited for what you want to do then why would you come to a Jeep Forum to have folks give you reasons why not to do the switch?!?!? Go trade in your Gladiator for the vehicle you're now in love with and go hang with the other Raptor owners. I'm sure the 3 guys in that forum will love swapping tales of camping in Walmart parking lots with you!

I would run my Raptor against your Mojave, stock for stock, and guarantee I make it out on top of anything you want to throw at either. Rubicon is different as it gets sway disconnects. But stock for stock, I’ll take the Raptor further than the Mojave.

And don't forget, Bronco guys that ACTUALLY do hardcore offroad usually end up trading for a wrangler. Most people buy the Bronco for it's looks and features, not abilities.

JT or JL traverses the same thing without so much as a raised eyebrow because it can keep the tires on the ground and stay more stable.

Watched a full-sized Bronco try a ledge and they rocked forward on three tires, before settling back down.

Im still here. Reading with mind open and mouth shut. My shocks are Fox 2.5 adjustable with remote res. Got them from Accutune for my JT. Before I test drive a RR I want to know as much as I can about it, especially the bad. I figured this would be the place to get that info but so far there has not been much. .

The bad: advertised power numbers are with premium 93 gas. Theres been murmurings of cam phasers on the 3.0s but not as bad as the 3.5s. 10r60 is a semi weak point and can need some help at the top end of 100k. 7 quarts of oil per change, extra $20. Tank is tiny, same fuel distance as the glady. Tie rods, similar to the bronco, but because they come stock with 33s it’s not as prevalent as the Sasquatch broncos. There’s some other bad but that’s what I know so far.

edit to add: the worst bad for me is the aftermarket. Right now only 3-4 bumper manufacturers, and every part gets the raptor tax and is more expensive. Also you have to rebuild the shocks every 50k of normal use.

I’m kind of in the same boat. I have to give a lot of back story here. lol. I quit daily driving my Gladiator because I inherited my dad’s old 2018 Colorado and it’s a much better DD. It’s surprisingly fast and also surprisingly great handling and way quieter. However, my dad was old school from Michigan and grew up without 4wd and thought it was a waste of money so it was a Z71 2wd. Long story short, I traded my mom her Z32 300ZX for it and she traded it for a new Mazda CX-5, which suits her needs much better. Now, I got back into the construction business and I’m longing for a bigger bed and more power for towing trailers. It has always performed admirably for what it is, but I feel like I’m going to wear it out. Especially, the 3.6l. It’s a 2020, but it only has 63k miles on it. The flip side is, it’s paid for and I don’t think it’s super smart to go buy a new $70k truck, so I’m on the fence.

What I’m probably going to do it keep it and put a camper shell on it with a roof rack. They actually look good like that too if you do it right. I might end up having to pay $4k to have the top end rebuilt, but that’s still cheaper. I hope the engine and transmission don’t go or I’ll be super pissed. That’s my biggest fear. I need a brake controller too. We have a 12’ double axle utility trailer with trailer brakes. I feel it pushing me when it’s heavily loaded.

Because the independent front suspension gives in if one corner is over loaded and doesnt have the split weight distribution of the solid Dana 44
