1.9%? That’s awesome! I must live in the wrong zip code. The rates I see on jeep.com are 6.9 for 72 months

I did this last month, the dealer had a little over 5k in dealer discounts, then there was $3k in rebates from Jeep and 1.9 percent interest. I was not going to buy new, but when I figured the 1.9 vs the 9 percent for a used one, was about 6k difference. So I ended up giving $37,237 for a bone stock gladiator sport except for freedom top and auto trans that MSRP for $45,545. With the savings on the interest, figured I gave more like $32k for a new, vs $30k for the used I was looking at. That just my crazy way of justifying it anyway, lol.

I'm getting 4.3 APY in a Marcus HYSA that has no limits on withdrawal (Used to be 6 withdrawal limit a month)

Slight less return but way more liquidity.

I do like the idea that you locked it into a CD though.

A lot of people will say look at all this money I am saving that I can now used to invest and then use the saved money on not investment things. In that case you would not be saving any money.

Also I might have used the money instead of a CD just made sure to max out my Roth (You might already be doing that)

No worries. You realy didnt save any money. In the end..when all boxes are done being shipped to the house…re-add your savings and magically just like the rest of us you will see you have $10k over the value invested in parts :)

Life is short…buy what you like and never look at a vehicle as an investment. They almost all are expendable and depreciating NON assets.
