Had tires changed and the pcm recall completed about a week ago. Noticed I am getting the dreaded 3.6 tick now at around 2800 rpm under load only. Doesn't do it at idle or above 2800 rpm at the moment. Changed and took apart oil filter and no metal so far. 64k, and changed oil religiously.

Anyone have similar experiences ?

While a REAL tick can happen as OP has, many people interpret fuel injector and AC clutch chatter as 'engine ticking'.

You should have heard the loose HLAs ( hydraulic lash adjusters ) on my GT500 when cold. THAT was a tick! It was fine though. Loose supercharged engine good.

You really need have an oil analysis done to see what the actual wear metals are coming in at. Since you have fresh oil, I would wait until your next oil change before sampling. Then regularly sample after that for trend data. Eyeballing a used oil filter will only take you so far.
