I am starting to look for new tires as the stock M/Ts are getting low at 37k miles.

I am looking at:

Nitto Ridge Grapplers
Terra Grapplers
Toyo Open Country AT III
BF Goodrich All Terrain TA KO2
Procomp AT Sport.

Looking for something that will do well in snow/rain, mostly on road driving and a little bit of dirt/gravel roads and maybe sand once a year. I believe most are gonna get me closer to 50k miles instead of 40k. My stock MT are pretty quiet they are now starting to buffer/slap as they are getting to the end of their life. Other then that been very happy with them.

Unpopular opinion

take a look at Ht tires like Michelin defender LTX-MS. Or consider the firestone destination at2.. I have them on right now and their geared largely towards the highway, but perform amazing in snow, rain, and gravel.

basically, any tire will be an improvement in handling and miles per gallon over your stock MT. But only another MT will match your stock if you’re into that sort of a offroading. (my opinion… I’m sure they’ll be a dog pile on this post.)

I've been super happy with my Falken Wild peak tires Rubicon take offs. Looking at going to a RT Falken when they wear out. Good cross between the AT and an MT or the general grabber AT which is 3PMSF rated

Out of the options you listed, I would go with Toyo AT3. I ran BFG KO2 and was not happy with them in the rain at all. No experience with the Ridge Grapplers or Pro comps.

Thanks, good to know on the BFGs.

Unless they cost a premium why not stick with the stock Falkens? When I'm due for a new set I'll be looking to 35's but I would choose the wildpeaks again. They've been well mannered on the road and have been excellent in deep snow and off road. I've used K02's in the past but they are heavy and, in my experience, did not last as long as expected.

Did your Gladiator have the KM2s or the Firestones?

The Toyo's are good tires and the last set I had (Open Country AT2) I got tired of waiting for them to wear out and replaced them at 65000 miles.

Terra Grapplers only look like all terrain tires, they don't perform very well off road.

Baja Boss ATs carry a 50,000 mile warranty.

Mine came with the BFG MT KM2s. I forgot about the Baja Boss ATs. Just trying to find something decent with a decent price. I am kinda leaning toward the Toyo Open Country. Just open to be swayed to another if better.

None of your business.
In my experience, all of the Firestone and Michelin compounds perform extremely well in the wet. True MTs are universally treacherous in the rain compared to even a Chinese AT IMO. I’ve had poor luck with Nitto and Falken across the board. FWIW

Had LTX M/S on a Tacoma was amazed at the wet/snow performance, did fine in rocks as well. Performed similar to BFG AT in off road environment. Have an ‘11 Raptor, original owner with 142k on it, getting ready to buy the third set of BFGss for it. Got 70k out of each set, replacing at 5/32.No complaints about longevity and rain performanceis excellent as long as there is siping. Another tire worth looking at is the M/T Baja Boss in 255/85/17, 34.5”tall 10” wide tire, get the height, keep the fuel economy

If we don’t go with a set of mt 02 pats, we are going with the Baja boss at- haven’t heard or read any significant issues with them.

The best tire for what you are describing for your needs is the Falkin Wildpeak AT3W. Hands down the best in the snow, and the only one with 3Peak snow rating.. Great on road and off road for even tougher trails than gravel roads. Plus you can get Rubicon take offs from someone upgrading to larger tires and save 3-400 dollars.

Are you seeing decent pricing on Toyos? Usually Toyo are one of the most expensive.

I have a smaller Toyo Open Country AT III on another vehicle and they are phenomenal. Gone through puddles and standing water on roads and you could hardly tell. Snow performance is amazing, they are one of the few non Winter tires to have three sips between treads helping massively.
