You are the first person I've seen who doesnt like Nitto. I have to ask wh, Im curious. I have Both Nitto and Toyo on 2 of my Jeeps and will be running Toyos on my 3rd Jeep. I have had fantastic results with both Toyo and Nitto.
I think there are actually quite a lot of us that don't care for them. My nittos were hands down the worst tires I've ever had. I had a set of terra grapplers and they were so bad that no one would ride in the truck with me as they just had no lateral grip even in mild corners and just gave a strong sense of uneasiness. I quickly replaced them as my wife refused to drive the truck until I did. My dad also had a pair of nittos and they wore quickly and poorly with a rough ride and not great on road grip.

I know a lot of people like them but I have just not been impressed by any of them yet to unseat my favorites in the different categories. Maybe if they were cheaper but at their prices I just feel like I can find a whole lot better tires.

Fully admit that I have not tried their latest stuff so maybe their newer stuff is better but even the guy with the recons I know said he won't be going back to them.

That's fair. They are pricey. I was surprised to learn Nitto is a subsidiary of Toyo. But I don't have any experience with the Terra Grappler. I run 35" Trail Grapplers on my TJ. They have been amazing. Decently quiet on the road for a MT. Balanced really good. The tire shop was actually surprised how well they balanced even with deadlocks. They wear nicely. Awesome on and offroad traction. My wifes JL has 35" Toyo A/T 3's. They are very quiet and are wearing very well and handle fantastic. I plan on running a set of 35" Toyo R/T Trails on my Gladiator.

I just got new tires on my 2022 JT Altitude (not High Altitude). Previous tires were OE installed 245/75r17 Bridgestone standard rated, on OE 17x7.5 wheels, and was time for a new set.

Majority of my use is mixed daily driving, with no towing. I also don't take this truck off roading; maybe some fire roads and gravel every once in a while.

After a lot of research based on criteria of 4-season performance, weight, looks & price, I eventually settled on Nitto Terra Grappler G3 in 285/70r17 standard rating (not LT), mounted on the same OE 17x7.5 wheels.

3 of the 4 tires balanced with less than 1oz of weights, one tire took 1.25oz. I have them currently set at 33psi (cold) and they go up to 35~36 on the highway and gives me even edge-to-edge wear.

It completely transformed the look of the truck. The ride feel is great and comfortable. They do have a hum over 60mph, however that went away after reducing the few PSI adjustments and driving over 300 miles or so.

Me too. Toyo/Nitto and Continental have been my go-to brands for trucks and cars respectively for years. Most people who talk bad about them have never owned them. I honestly have never known anyone who has had issues with them.

Have a 2024 GLADIATOR Willy with FIRESTONE / DESTINATION tires on it and not like the road noise , will probably move those tires to our Polaris RZR . Would like to go get some MICHELIN tires one or two sizes taller , anybody got some recommendations, Jeep is mainly driven in YUMA or towed behind motorhome have the RZR for dirt .
Thanks Rick
What is your use case? Percentage on-road vs off-road and what kind of off-road driving will you be doing? I assume a desert environment in Yuma, but are you doing serious rock crawling or primarily on-road with just some graded dirt roads?

All of these matter for the correct tire choice.

I wish Bridgestone didn’t discontinue the Revo 3s. I bought a second set earlier this year while I still could. Far and away the best A/Ts I’ve ever owned. They do great in everything. Wet, dry on/off pavement, towing, tire wear, quiet, and probably some things I’m forgetting.

I've only seen bad results with Bridgestone off road. They are known for having weak sidewalls and carcasses, the last time I went wheeling with someone running Bridgestone the tire spontaneously blew a sidewall while driving down a smooth sandstone ramp at Fins n Things. Not so much as a pebble nearby to cause it to blow out.

Their OEM spec tires are horrible, but that’s the same with Firestone and many other brands.

You couldn't pay me to run Bridgestone's on any of my vehicles. I would rather drive on wheels with no tires at all than run Bridgestone/Firestone tires.

Thats a wild take. I promise if you ran the Revo 3s you’d feel differently. Also, I can’t imagine looping an entire mfr lineup of tires into one statement. anyone who know anything about tires, knows how different manufacturers tires are throughout the lineup. Plus, like previously stated, OEM spec tires are almost all garbage and built to a price point. The absolute worst are the Korean OEM spec tires. Bridgestone is one of the largest, most diverse and most well respected global tire brands.

You also just combined Bridgestone and Firestone in the same category. They aren’t closely related at all. Bridgestone is Japanese. That’s like comparing a VW to a Porsche.

Bridgestone and Firestone are the same company. Their US headquarters is here in Nashville.

Porsche and VW mutually own each other, each has a major stake in the other company.

As for Bridgestone: according to their own website - https://www.bridgestoneamericas.com/en/company/businesses/products/firestone

No. They aren’t. Like I said. It’s like comparing VW to Porsche. Same group. Not the same company.

Except VW owns Porsche. For example, The Porsche Cayenna is a rebadged VW Touareg. Its the same SUV. Also, Bridgestone owns Firestone.
