I'm looking for a cover mostly to keep bags dry, not for any long term storage. Sometimes I load up the bed with wood so it also needs to not restict access too bad. Doesn't have to be bullet proof, and don't really want to spend more than 1k.
The truxedo looks decent for the price.
Suggestions?
Thanks!

I went with the Gator tri-fold soft cover. Just under 500 and work and looks great.

Stop right there.

Seriously, I went with the Truxedo LoPro on my Gladiator, and I'm very happy with it.
The main reason I picked Truxedo was my experience with them. I have the forerunner to the LoPro on a 2006 F250, and it's been great. It has needed repairs, but with the Truxedo lifetime warranty, I have not had to pay a dime for the parts. Anytime I need a part, a phone call or an e-mail is all I need, and they get right back to me with a shipping confirmation.
The Truxedo is a little more expensive than some other options, but you will not find any better customer service.
A word of caution: some of the Truxedo covers don't have the lifetime warranty, and make certain you buy a new cover from an authorized dealer, or they won't honor the warranty. Many of the sellers on eBay are authorized dealers, though, all you need do is ask the seller.

The Extang hard folding cover is a good choice also and fits your budget.

If you're looking to keep from restricting bed access, I'd suggest a rolling cover. I picked a soft rolling one for $200 on Amazon that I like. $1k is a nice budget for this, I'm sure you could find a great product for less than that, maybe looking into a hard rolling cover?

I don't think you could go wrong either way, and soft rolls certainly save some coin. Hope you love it!

I went with the bestop soft roll cover with the premium fabric.....looks nice and works well. Haven't had it in the rain yet so I don't know how water tight it is, but it seems to get very good reviews for weather seal. Took maybe a half hour to install. I almost went with the Truxedo Lo Pro, because my other half has one on his truck.......it's a nice cover, but I want the premium fabric look on mine, and was able to save about $150.

I'm in the same boat, same budget. Have my finger hovering over the "order now" button on this one: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B085HWMBVQ/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_4?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Did you push the button? I want the hard cover just haven't deciced which one. I like the BAK quality. Have had a roll up on my Dodge for about 15 years. Has given great service. Let us know what you get and what you think.

Tagged for discussion. I wish Peragon made a gladiator cover. Its under 1k and is a hard cover but folds up like an accordion that doesn't take up much room when folded.

I researched Tonneau covers to death, went back and forth between soft/hard, trifold/rollup etc.

I eventually settled on an Access LiteRider and I really like it. It seems to fit into a sweet spot of being more premium than cheap Amazon crap but less expensive than overpriced mopar and other options. Its also nice because it sits above the bed so taller coolers and stuff fit underneath.

YMMV, everyone has different requirements and there are so many different options available, good luck!

Not yet. I'm going to try to see one in person first. Not sure where that would be, but will try to hit some camper type stores this week.
