Truck Bed Storage Tool Box For 2020-2023 Jeep Wrangler Gladiator JT Left+Right

Jeep Gladiator Tool box? Anyone DSC_2127_048_small

These swing boxes for my Jeep Gladiator are pretty nice. They are pretty easy to install, even with poor instructions. They are easy to swing out, and to lock in place.

It would have been nice if the lids would fully open even when latched to the sides of the bed. But to do so, they would have to be further from the sides, taking up more of the small bed. Even then, it would be hard to access anything stored in them. So, for easy access, just pull on the yellow handle, and swing it toward the tailgate. Everything is then within reach. To detach from the hinge, just lift and pull away.

These are very light weight, though sturdy, so any concern for how heavy they are to carry should only be a matter of what you contain in them.

In attaching them to the truck bed, rather than using screws, I used the steel pop rivets that were included, but not mentioned in the list of parts, figuring they would be better long-term than using the sheet metal screws. The drill size was 1/4 inch.

These fit well and do not interfere with the tonneau cover, other than they do occupy some of the space that was taken by the tonneau struts when not in use.

When latched, the bed space in between is 37 inches wide at the base, and 34-1/2 inches at the lid. That would be rather narrow when truck bed tent sleeping for two. To deal with this at the campsite, I will simply remove the storage boxes before inflating a 44 inch wide air mattress in the bed. Since the lids will not open far enough to be usable when they are latched in place, just removing them when needed is good. Hopefully, my stuff doesn't become too heavy for this to be easily managed.

It may have been nicer if the deep part of the box continued another seven inches to fill the gap to the wheel well. But then piling more stuff in the boxes would increase the weight, perhaps making them more difficult to remove, and maybe putting too much stress on sheet metal screws (which maybe not be a problem for steel rivets).

Since these are offered as a left/right pair, I had some hope that the keys would be identical. But they are not. Therefore I will have to keep two keys on hand for the storage boxes.

All in all, I really like these, and expect to make good use of them.

Winter is on the way, needed more dry storage. Found this on sale locally so I grabbed it.

Anyone put a tool box in yet?

Not interested in a topper. Got a soft cover on it now. But thinking with the tools i like to carry, everything would be better in a box, as there is no room for them in the cab.
I looked and looked for something I liked for a long time. I found nothing. So I bought a bunch of Milwaukee pack out stuff with mainly drawers. It’s worked out beautifully.

Thanks for the heads up! Pulled the trigger and ordered a pair of knockoffs. I will heed your mounting advice upon install. Thanks again!
What brand did you buy? I can't seem to find any for gladiator except the swing out brand.

Not the best photo but I’m happy with my decision to put a toolbox in the bed. It does take up a bit of the usable space, but for anything that really requires a bed I have another truck.
Box in question is a CamLocker brand made specifically for the gladiator. Fits like a glove.

I see somebody showing the swing boxes. They apparently make them for Gladiators now for three arms and a leg. I have them in my 2500 and they are OK, nothing wrong with them but not as useful as the ram Boxes. I also bought them from my after market guy and he installed them for well over a hundred less than they have them on Amazon. And these are smaller. They do NOT interfere with a topper, lock (easily defeated I'd bet) and do take up space toward the front and not much space on a Gladiator bed. BUT they are easily removed like five seconds if you don't want them in the way. And you can get one.

But after giving up Ram Boxes in a 1500 I got them and they are useful and better than nothing for sure. I put emergency gear in them and when towing my DeWalt half 20 volt half inch torque wrench etc. I can put easy to access screw drivers, and stuff you might need towing. We sort of keep one side for stuff she "mostly" buys to keep them out of the back of the truck where the dogs live.

I'd give it a go but not for 438 bucks. LIke I said, I got two for a 2500 bed installed for between 300 and 350 but that was in 2022...

Check out Pelican cases website. They have all kinds of different sizes, shapes, depths and colors of some heavy duty boxes. I think you could even get foam in some of them. Find one of those that sits flush with the bed rails and that would look sweet depending on what size you are looking for. You may even be able to bolt it down to your bed as well as the box itself being lockable. not to mention the boxes are water and dust proof. And if you ever go to the depths of the sea, some of the boxes have a pressure relief valve built in!:like::clap:
Actually very nice stuff if you got deep pockets. But very nice.

I must have gotten lucky because I bought a passenger side one last spring, and the driver side in the fall and mine were matching keys for the locks.
I put mine in, the passenger side one sits a touch too low at the front so it rubs slightly when swinging it out (could have also been because I had some heavy hitch parts in there for a bit).
They fit right under the tonneau cover so they stay covered and don't interfere with the factor cover.

My only issue is that I would take them out when I need to haul alot of stuff in the bed, and the last time I did, one of the plastic pieces that sit over the 'pin' on the hinge of the bracket and box kind of acting like a bearing for the hinge fell off and I didn't notice it until I went to put the box back on. I can't seem to find anywhere that I can get a replacement part from anywhere

I did this, but with Bauer. Because I’m cheap. Need a better way to lock em in the bed though. Gotta get some cleats that go in the bed rails.
