EXACTLY. I brought my Husky WDH to pickup our travel trailer, the dealer set it up for free. Their tech walked me through it and hit all the high points the instruction manual had.

Your empty load is nothing like what you'll tow with on the regular. Once you grok the system it makes sense and you'll be fine doing it yourself.

I'd avoid the dealer interference and tow it home on a bare hitch, 3100 lbs is really no big deal. I use a Curt Echo brake controller, you will DEFINITELY want a controller for that. I don't speed with the travel trailer, 62 MPH is my happy spot, keep it between the lines and have fun.

Oh, and look into Thorn Engineering mirror adapters to get those JK extended mirrors for towing.

I'm also thinking that if they adjust it when I pick it up from the dealer, I'm going to have to redo it when I have everything loaded up for our first weekend, to account for the extra weight in the camper and Jeep, right?

Sorry, leftover terminology from the olden days that has come to be used for a deep, holistic understanding of complex systems (technology mostly). There are a bunch of variables affecting the WDH system and when you work with it enough, you know how much up here is going to get you the down you need there to compensate for the weight increase here.

Grok?
You lost me.?

Lol, okay never heard that term before. Now it makes sense, thanks for that explanation.

By olden days, I mean older than me, and from a book I didn't particularly like, but the term is useful. Sorry for the confusion.
